An assistance system associated with the bin may be activated in response to a manipulation of a switch associated with the bin. The assistance system may comprise a biasing system and a switch. The biasing system may be configured to generate a force in a direction towards a closed position for the bin. A switch may be connected to the biasing system and configured to activate the biasing system when a selected amount of weight is present in the bin. The force in the direction towards the closed position for the bin may be generated in response to activating the assistance system.

    摘要: An animal-resistant system for inhibiting access to refuse containers by animals is disclosed. The system comprises at least one latch mechanism, at least one actuation member, at least one shroud member, and a cover defining an opening which permits access to the actuation member. The actuation member communicates with the latch mechanism so as to move the latch mechanism between the latched and unlatched positions. In the latched position, the latch mechanism secures the container lid to the container base, substantially inhibiting access to the container. The access hole and actuation member are dimensioned and positioned on the container in a selected manner so as allow human hands access to the actuation member and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals. The shrouds are further configured to inhibit forcible entry into the container when the system is latched.

    摘要: The invention relates to a locking device at a spagnolet mechanism (1), anchored in a door or window case (39), which mechanism comprises a central adjusting mechanism (2), from which locking rods (7) originate in mutually opposite directions, the free ends of the locking rods (7) being anchored in recesses (41) in a frame (40), a locking bolt (42) being responsible for the locking, which is pivotable around a stationary revolving spindle pin (44) by the locking rods, which locking bolt (42) via a connection link (43) with joints adjacent its ends in a locking house (16) is connected to the associated locking rod. According to the invention the locking bolt (42) is partially inserted into the locking house (16) and is anchored there by way of the revolving spindle pin (44). The locking bolt is connected in an extreme outwardly pivoted position to the connection link (43) via its first joint (45) and is pivoted into the locking house jointly with connection link, which in the locking house is connected to its second joint (46) with the corresponding locking rod end, which jointly with the adjusting mechanism (2) prevent the locking bolt (42) from pivoting back to the extreme position. In this way the unity of the coupling is secured.

The gearing subassembly and the locking subassembly are directly interconnected. An adjusting subassembly is used for positioning the locking subassembly with respect to a strike plate of a door. The adjusting subassembly comprises several guiding plates. The latter and the gearing subassembly have a common center of rotation.

    摘要: The present invention is an improved multi-point door latch. The door latch is for mounting in a stile of a door and for latching to a corresponding keeper mounted in a corresponding door jamb. The multi-point door latch includes a housing containing first and second gears, each gear being rotatably mounted to the housing, the gears intermeshing to rotate in opposite directions between first and second positions. One of the gears is mountable to a door lock lever to rotate in response to movement of the door lock lever. The door latch also includes a first and second hook pivotally mounted to the housing, each hook being movable between a latching position for engaging the keeper and a non-latching position. The door latch also includes an actuator coupling the first and second hooks to the first and second gears, respectively. The actuator permits the hooks to move between their latching and non-latching positions in response to the rotation of the gears between their first and second positions, respectively.

    摘要: The present invention provides a mortise lock mechanism, that includes a lock housing adapted for secure positioning within a mortise, first and second locking members positioned within the housing, each having a first end and a hooked second end, an actuator mounted for rotational movement within the housing and adapted for user directed rotational movement, and a motion translating linkage having a first end pivotally interconnected to the first end of the first locking member, a second end pivotally interconnected to the first end of the second locking member. The motion translating linkage is interconnected to the actuating member and adapted for corresponding movement when the actuator is moved. A first bias member interconnects the translating linkage to the housing, whereby the bias member retains the actuator and the translating linkage in a first position absent user force directed to the actuator.

A spring-loaded locking hasp lies horizontally opposite the engagement element on the inside of the door frame. The locking hasp has a semicircular or claw-shaped recess and a laterally projecting locking section. A locking element is movably guided inside the door frame and connected to a vertically movable rod. During the closing movement of the door, the engagement element engages with the recess of the locking hasp, which swings with its locking section in the direction of the center of the door opening and assumes a position parallel to the door and is locked in this position by a movement of the locking element which is triggered in the vertical direction.

    摘要: A multi-point latch assembly having a locking unit operably positioned in a closure member such as a door or window. The latch unit has a pair of latches with slots formed therein permitting the latches to simultaneously slide and pivotally engage a stationary pin. A keeper unit is operably positioned in a stationary member such as a door jam in a wall or a window sash. The keeper unit has a pair of pivotally movable hooks for selectively engaging the pair of latches in the latch unit. The latch unit has an actuator unit located internal to the latch unit for causing the hooks and latches to engage one another. The closure member is prevented from moving relative to the stationary member without first disengaging the hooks and latches from one another. The multi-point latch assembly has a stop rod located in the keeper unit. A release button located on the latch unit engages the stop rod when the closure member is closed. The latch unit is incapable of actuating the hooks and latches until the release button contacts the stop rod when the closure member is in a closed position relative to the stationary member.
