Abstract:
A locking apparatus and method for securing a door or window comprising a substantial controllable mechanical locking mechanism that secures the sliding door or window into the receiving channel such that the locking mechanism cannot be disengaged from the receiving structure by a manual force; prevents the door or window from being lifted out of a bottom track by mere manual force; is able to report the door or window status as closed or open and as locked or unlocked to a remote user; is able to be remotely locked and unlocked using an application running on a mobile device or computer, or, alternatively by accessing a web accessible portal from a mobile device, electronic device or computer; and is manually operable by a user in the event of a power outage. A manually operated embodiment is useful for use cases in which no electric power is available.
Abstract:
A double-door lock assembly includes a first lock and a second lock which are respectively mounted on a first door and a second door. The double-door lock assembly utilizes a first linkage member of the first lock to connect a second linkage member of the second lock to allow the first and second locks to co-operate. Hence the first and second doors can be opened or closed simultaneously in the same direction.
Abstract:
An external lock assembly for sliding doors or windows comprising a pair of reciprocatingly moving sliding bolt carriage handle members (8a, 8b) that move locking bolt members (7a, 7b) and a pair of associated guide blocks (18a, 18b) fixedly mounted onto the body (12) of the lock assembly. At least one of the guide blocks is provided with a recessed region (20) adapted to accomodate an immobilizer member (21) that maintains at least one corresponding locking bolt member at locked condition. The immobilizer member (21) is pivotally mounted with a bottom extending shaft (22) that enters into a hole (20a) of the recessed region (20) and comprises a V-section body extension with adjacent sides (23a, 24a) and extreme edges (23, 24) respectively, while a slot (21a) of the immobilizer member (21) is adapted to receive a key implement (30) by means of which it is being rotated through a predetermined arc to bring one of the extreme edges (23, 24) thereof in abutment with a bottom end of a V-sectioned body portion (26) of the guide block thereby providing an immobilized status of the associated locking bolt member at a locked condition.
Abstract:
Locking system (10) for a sliding door (2) with respect to a constraint structure comprising a latch (4), associable to the sliding door (2) or to the constraint structure, rotatable or rotatably translatable between a configuration of locking and a configuration of release of the door (2), a keyhole member (6), connectable to the other between the constraint structure or the sliding door (2), which delimits a holding edge (8) that, in the locking configuration, is engaged by the latch (4) to prevent movement of the, sliding door (2) with respect to said structure, the keyhole member (6) being manually operable to move the holding edge (8) and the latch (4) apart, when the latter is in the locking configuration.
Abstract:
A door panel lock system for a door panel assembly. The door panel lock system is incorporated into a cutout in a door panel of the door panel assembly. The lock system includes a lock mechanism that is coupled to a floor bolt assembly by a connecting member, and a cover that is coupled to the door panel and covers a portion of the cutout and the connecting member.
Abstract:
A closure securing mechanism implementing a latching without further operator interaction mechanism for sliding doors when completely slid closed. The closure securing mechanism implements the automatic latching function through industry standard compatible devices or modifications to existing sliding door latching hardware. When the closure securing mechanism is installed on a sliding door the latching mechanism will be positively secured anytime the door is fully slid closed. The mechanism can be opened from inside and outside with standard pull handles with sliding locks. The sliding lock portion has a spring of specific tension, specific body and total length in tension so whenever the door is slid closed and the keeper latch is angled to engage and hold a latching arm inhibiting opening of the door until the tension of the spring is overcome by an operator sliding the sliding lock against the spring in tension.
Abstract:
A bolt mechanism (10), comprising: two bolts (22A, 22B), slideable along one axis (32) or along axes parallel thereto, for bolting the two bolts (22A, 22B) one towards the other; at least one handle (20A) fixed to at least one (22A) of the two bolts (22A, 22B) for bolting thereof; two cogged bars (36A, 36B), each fixed to one of the bolts (22A, 22B), for being slideable along the axis (32) or along axes parallel thereto; and a cogged wheel (38) joined to both of the cogged bars (36A, 36B), thereby the bolts (22A, 22B) are forced to slide along opposing directions, thereby the two bolts (22A, 22B) bolt and release together, each by a single manual motion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a locking device provided with at least one locking point, in particular for windows, doors, sliding patio doors or the like constructed from an assembly of profiled parts, having at least one locking bar (24a, 24b) sliding inside a sash (2), the said bar being moveable under the action of a sliding unit (18a, 18b) fixedly attached to the said bar between an unlocking position, in which the said bar is disposed outside a frame element adjacent to the said sash (2), and a locking position, in which the said bar is disposed partially inside the said frame element, and at least one actuating element (6, 106) accessible from outside the said sash (2), wherein the said actuating element (6, 106) is configured to act on an associated member (17a, 17b) connected to the sliding unit (18a, 18b) when it is displaced in translation along an axis of displacement from an initial position to a final position so as to cause displacement of the said locking bar (24a, 24b) from its unlocking position to its locking position.
Abstract:
Described herein is a safety device against false maneuvers for sliding window and door frames, including an arrest designed to prevent displacement of the catch of the mobile frame of the window or door frame from its inoperative position to the operative position of engagement with a corresponding striker of the fixed frame, in the condition for opening the window or door frame. The arrest with the corresponding thrust member, adjustable in a direction parallel to the direction of displacement of the arrest, is carried by a slide that is adjustable in a direction orthogonal to the direction of displacement of the arrest.
Abstract:
A foot bolt (10) of a sideways movable sliding door or a similar element (1-3), includes a part locking the element in the base, such as a pin fitting in the hole in the base. The foot bolt also has a counterpart (9) in the next element movable beside it, in which counterpart the part (13) in the edge of the preceding element can be fitted so that the adjacent elements get sideways interlocked. On moving the elements in the opposite direction, pushing of the last brought element away from the preceding element opens the locking of the preceding element from the base. The pin fitting in the hole in the base is intended to be manually pressed, for instance by the foot, into the hole.
