Abstract: A tip for being attached to a wrapper containing a smokable substance. The tip includes a tube having a generally cylindrical shape, having two ends each forming an opening at opposite ends of said tube. The openings are fluidly connected to each other by a chamber between the two ends, the chamber and said two ends being axially aligned. A first one of the two ends has a t-shaped opening and a second one of the two ends has a circular opening. The second end has an outside diameter less than an outside diameter of the first end. A method for making the tip is also described.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing glass products from tubular glass precursors is provided. In particular, a method and apparatus for separating tube glass into sized glass tube portions, produced glass tube portions, glass precursor portions, or glass product portions, and their use as pharmaceutical packaging are provided. The tube glass or the glass precursor or the glass product is provided with filaments along predetermined breaking planes. The filaments extend obliquely to the local wall radius and allow for clean separation of the tube glass or the glass precursor or the glass product.

Abstract: Provided is a cutting method for a tube glass, including: a heating step of heating a preset cut portion (CP) of the tube glass (G2) by radiating laser light (L11) to the preset cut portion (CP); an inner crack region forming step of forming an inner crack region (C1) including one or a plurality of cracks through multiphoton absorption that occurs in an irradiation region of laser light (L12) by radiating the laser light (L12) having a focal point adjusted to an inside of the preset cut portion (CP); and a cooling step of cooling the preset cut portion (CP), to thereby cause the cracks to propagate in the inside of the preset cut portion (CP).

An apparatus includes a translatable support portion and a heating apparatus coupled to the support portion. The heating apparatus is configured to contact the continuous glass ribbon across at least a portion of a width of the continuous glass ribbon at the desired line of separation as the support portion moves in a draw direction, thereby preferentially applying heat to a first side of the continuous glass ribbon at the desired line of separation as the continuous glass ribbon moves in the draw direction.
