摘要: The present disclosure provides a method and a device for converting the alternating motion produced by at least one float (202, 222) resting atop surface of a water body into unidirectional motion and converting that motion into usable energy. The method and device may be provided on a structure/vessel (206) or as the interface between the vessel and the water body surface. The vessel incorporating the device as such experiences a reduced effect of vertical perturbations from waves generated on the water body.

摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus that floats at the surface of a body of water over which waves pass. Passing waves cause a nominally vertical axis of the apparatus to tilt away from an axis normal to the resting surface of the body of water. Tilting of sufficient magnitude and duration allows a fluid to flow through a channel that in an un-tilted apparatus would require the gravitational potential energy of the fluid to increase (i.e., to flow uphill), but, because of the tilt allows the fluid to flow through the channel in a downhill direction. Flowing water is trapped at a plurality of levels which in an un-tilted apparatus are higher than the respective levels from which the fluid has flowed. A subsequent tilt of the apparatus in a sufficiently different direction, and of a sufficient magnitude and duration, causes the trapped water to flow to new, yet higher levels. Successive wave-driven tilts of the apparatus incrementally raise water to a height and/or head from which a portion of its gravitational potential energy can be released, and/or converted to electrical power, by causing the water to return to a lower level by flowing through a water turbine thereby energizing an operationally connected generator, or through some other apparatus that performs a useful function when supplied with a flow of high-pressure water.

摘要: A potable water producing system for disposition at a salt water body and methods of producing potable water are provided. The system includes a wave energy conversion system (AWECS) and a portable filtration system. The AWECS forms a floating articulated barge having an onboard desalination system including reverse osmosis membranes. The filtration system is a sand filter residing on a damping plate submerged in the salt water body and filters the adjacent salt water for providing filtered salt water to the onboard desalination system. Wave action on the articulated barge provides energy to pump and pressurize the filtered salt water from the sand filter to the reverse osmosis membranes to produce potable water. The wave action on the articulated barge effects shaking of the reverse osmosis membranes, thereby rendering them self-cleaning. The potable water can be used for various applications, e.g., bottling, replenishing aquifers, ground and/or aquifer remediation, irrigation, etc.

摘要: The ocean wave power generator with an artificially intelligent controller is a wave power generator based on a two-body mass-spring-damper system, including a first mass, a second mass, and a linear generator coupled to the second mass. A linear actuator is coupled to the second mass, and first and second motion sensors are positioned for detecting position and speed of the first and second masses. The maximum power output of the linear generator is determined based on the position and the speed of the first mass, and an ideal position and an ideal speed of the second mass, corresponding to the maximum power output of the linear generator and the position and the speed of the first mass, are determined. The position and the speed of the second mass are adjusted using a linear actuator to match the ideal position and the ideal speed of the second mass.

摘要: A wave powered electricity generator is provided. Waves are separated from a floating platform unit by using a partition plate unit so that the floating platform unit enclosed by the partition plate unit is almost no wave. The waves outside the partition plate unit are to move many floating ball units up and down so that the racks provided on each of the floating ball units are capable of rotating the gears extending from the floating platform unit, and the rotational forces of gears are regulated through ratchets and consolidated to produce a power for driving generators. The racks on the floating ball units and the gears on the floating platform unit are pulled together by using springs. The resilient force of the two springs simultaneously helps the rack's ‘up and down’ in smooth reciprocating motion. Then the gears directly and indirectly output a force to drive generators.

摘要: A computing apparatus that is integrated within a flotation module, the system obtaining the energy required to power its computing operations from waves that travel across the surface of a body of water on which the flotation module sets. Additionally, the self-powered computing apparatus employs novel designs to utilize its close proximity to the body of water and/or to strong ocean winds to significantly lower the cost and complexity of cooling their computing circuits.
