Abstract: A system and method for installing a post-tensioning tendon (130) in an equipment tower (100). A sheave frame (196) attaches to anchor rods (140), and a pulley (198) is mounted to the sheave frame through which a hoisting cable (197) is passed for connection to an end (138) of the tendon to lift the tendon to the anchor rods. A carriage assembly (150) having a shank (152) and a bearing plate platform (154) extending transversely from the shank for receiving a bearing plate (170) is attached to the tendon. The carriage assembly includes a deflecting surface (158) to deflect the carriage assembly away from the installed bearing plate upon lowering after tendon attachment. A pair of hydraulic jacks (210) tension the tendon to a desired load.

Abstract: A wave-induced motion compensation crane and corresponding vessel and method are disclosed. The crane includes a motion compensation device at a tip end portion of the boom structure to compensate for X-Y wave-induced motion and a heave compensation device for Z-motion. The motion compensation device includes a moveable jib beam that extends in a substantially horizontal direction. The jib beam is slewable about a substantially vertical slew axis and translatable in a longitudinal direction of the jib beam. Preferably, the jib beam can be levelled based on the angular orientation of the boom structure.

Abstract: A wind turbine including a mast assembly having an upper support structure hingably attached to a lower support structure wherein the mast assembly has an installation position and an operational position. Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for manufacturing a wind turbine rotor blade that can be easily lifted and lowered to and from a rotor installed atop a tower. The method includes providing a plurality of root inserts for a blade root of the blade and securing at least one cylindrical member to one of the root inserts such that the cylindrical member is substantially perpendicular with the root insert. The method also includes arranging the root inserts in a blade mold of the blade and forming a blade shell with the plurality of root inserts laminated therein. The method may further include securing at least one attachment component within each of the cylindrical members so as to provide an attachment location for a pulley cable used to lift and lower the rotor blade to and from the rotor installed atop the tower.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pitch bearing, a blade, an impeller of a wind turbine and to a connecting method for the wind turbine. There is provided a pitch bearing of a wind turbine comprising: an inner bearing ring, an outer bearing ring and an extension portion, wherein one of the inner bearing ring and the outer bearing ring is connected to the extension portion. With the pitch bearing, blade, impeller of the wind turbine and the connecting method for the wind turbine according to the disclosure, it is possible to connect the blade to the pitch bearing without bolts, allow a lower weight for the wind turbine, increase strength and fatigue life of the wind turbine, and allow a lower manufacturing cost and difficulty for the wind turbine.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for weighing an elongate object extending between a root end and a tip end thereof, said method including: providing a respective tip load measurement gauge and root load measurement gauge; and providing a suspending arrangement configured for suspending said elongate object from said tip load measurement gauge and from said root load measurement gauge; and suspending said object in a horizontal orientation; and recording a tip load and a root load from respective said load measurement gauges, said method being additionally characterised by: providing a weighing area; and fixing an inclinometer to said suspended blade and load gauge arrangement; and suspending said elongate object from said tip load gauge and from said root load gauge; and adjusting the horizontality of said elongate object in response to signals from said inclinometer prior to said step of recording said tip load and said root load. Alternatively, an inclinometer may be replaced by placing a first distance sensor at a first location on a ground surface; and placing a second distance sensor at a second location on said ground surface; and suspending said elongate object from said tip load gauge and from said root load gauge such that a said root end thereof is suspended proximate said first distance sensor and a said tip end thereof is suspended proximate said second distance sensor; and measuring a first distance between said first distance sensor and a said root portion of said elongate object and; and measuring a second distance between said second distance sensor and a said tip portion of said elongate object; and then adjusting the horizontality of said elongate object in response to said first and second distance readings prior to said step of recording said tip load and said root load.
