Abstract:
The present invention regards a barrier plug system (3) for sealing off a pipe (1), comprising a plug body, a first and a second end plate surface (11, 31) arranged on opposite sides of the plug body and at least one circumferential sealing means (6) and means (8) for setting the plug system (3). The plug body comprises at least two separate plug body elements (10, 30) movable relative each other and the at least one sealing means (6) is arranged abutting two opposite annular pressing surfaces (12, 32) formed by the plug body, which are moved towards each other during setting of the plug system (3). The pressing surfaces (12, 32) are limited in the movement against each other by stop means and pre-tensioned to move toward each other by at least one tensioning device (7).
Abstract:
A plug assembly 10 includes a housing 14 and one or more covers 16 coupled to the housing. The plug assembly 10 includes at least one mounting plate 12a, 12b positioned between the housing 14 and the cover 16 for movement relative thereto between an extended position and a retracted position. The plug assembly 10 includes an actuator 17 engageble with the mounting plates 12a, 12b for moving the mounting plates between the extended position and the retracted position in response to a command issued from a controller 62. During operation, the plug assembly 10 is positioned in a conduit 18 and the mounting plates 12a, 12b are moved to the extended position thereby releasably securing the plug assembly at a desired location in the conduit.
Abstract:
A pipe plug comprised of two, pivotally connected plugging heads, each plugging head having a sealing element, which work in combination to double block and bleed a pipe. The first sealing element prevents flow of product in the pipe and the second sealing element captures any leakage past the first sealing element and forces that leakage out through a fitting. A stabilization pad, connected to a flange on a nosepiece of each plugging head, prevents deformation of the sealing elements. A spring-loaded pivot arm connected to the second plugging head allows the yoke that connects the two plugging heads to rotate freely. An outward-facing raised taper projection on the pivot arm, along with a guide wheel connected to the first plugging head, prevent the yokes and plugging heads from becoming entrapped during their installation in or removal from the pipe.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bypass device for bypassing a sewer where it exits a building. The device comprises a pass through pipe having one or more compression rings which expand under compression to seal the hollow pipe in place in a pipe exiting to a sewer.
Abstract:
A dual-purpose engine fitting is provided that may be used both during engine testing and during engine use, for vehicles with vacuum assisted brakes and for those without. The fitting has a body portion configured to fit within an opening in the manifold and defining a passage having opposing first and second ends. The fitting has a seal portion enclosing the first end of the passage. The second end of the passage is open to the manifold when the body portion is fit within the manifold. A thinned wall joins the body portion and the seal portion, establishing a predetermined fracture region at which the seal portion will separate from the body portion when sufficient torque is applied to the seal portion to thereby open the first end of the passage. A method of assembling vehicles is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a boiler tube plug, which is used to plug holes left in drum walls after removal of failed boiler tubes in industrial power boilers, condensers, or heat exchangers. The present invention concerns a new and innovative boiler tube sheet plug for power boilers addressing the needs in the art. The boiler tube plug of the present invention may be used in evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers and other power boilers as appropriate as known in the art.
Abstract:
A pipe filter and closure assembly comprises a support member in the form of an annular collar or sleeve. In use the collar is positioned wholly within the pipe at some distance from an open (upper) end of the pipe. A filter element in the form of a strainer is releasably mountable to the collar so as to inhibit the passage of solid material through the pipe, whilst allowing the passage of fluids (liquids and gases) therethrough. A closure member in the form of a plug in use is mountable inside the collar to be seated at the strainer. In use when the plug is in place, the flow of material through the pipe is blocked. The location of the assembly or part thereof arrangeable wholly within the pipe reduces the ease of access to and presents significant difficulties for an operator seeking to tamper with the assembly.
Abstract:
In a protector for protecting a trapezoidal female thread of a pipe formed to an end thereof, the protector has a male thread formed thereto so as to be threaded with the female thread as well as the height of the thread of the male thread is made larger than the height of the thread of the female thread. With this arrangement, a surface treatment applied to the surface of the female thread or a male thread formed to the end of the pipe can be prevented from being damaged, and in particular, a surface treatment applied to a guide flank surface, a load flank surface, a corner portion, and the like of the thread can be prevented from being subjected to wear, damage, and the like.
Abstract:
A retaining device for a tube plug made of an elastomeric material and having a generally hollow body elongated along an axis, with a closed front end and an open rear end leading to a central axially extending blind hole having a predetermined diameter is provided which is a generally cylindrical non-expandable insert member having a diameter slightly greater than the blind hole diameter and an enlarged head portion, wherein, upon insertion of the insert member into the central blind hole of the tube plug, the tube plug body will be diametrically enlarged.
Abstract:
A vacuum sealing-structure for a heat-sinking conduit/chamber which suits an upright heat-sinking conduit (thermal tower or thermal column), a laying flat heat-sinking chamber (thermal chamber or vapor chamber) and other like devices. The structure comprises: a hollow pipe (or chamber) of which one end is open; a sealing lid for covering the opening, the sealing lid having a hole thereon; and a screw for sealing to lock in the hole of the sealing lid. Therefore, when in slight screwing in of the screw to snuggle to the hole, air in the hollow pipe (or chamber) can be drawn out by an externally connected vacuum-forming equipment, after the hollow pipe (or chamber) is drawn to form the vacuum, the screw can be screwed in to tightly seal the opening of the hollow pipe (or chamber).
