摘要: An issuer bank loads varying sponsor provided stored value amounts to inactive Virtual Payment Cards (VPCs), where the sponsor authorizes merchants and charities to receive merchant-defined donations incident to authorized transactions on the VPCs. The sponsor gifts each inactive VPC to a respective user of web access device by way of data corresponding to the inactive VPC. Each web access device transmits activation data to the issuer bank to active the inactive VPC. Each activated VPC is used to conduct an online transaction with a merchant. The merchant's acquirer bank sends an authorization for delivery to the issuer bank to validate the transaction amount and the merchant. If the issuer bank sends an authorization response to the acquirer bank indicating that the transaction is authorized, the merchant tenders goods and/or services for the transaction, and the merchant makes a merchant-defined donation to the one or more of the charities.

摘要: Systems and methods to enhance the efficiency of initiating, conducting and funding research projects are described. The system includes a plurality of attributes relevant to users of the system including donors, potential donors, researchers and research projects. The system utilizes matching strategies to present research projects to donors that may best align with the donor's interests as defined by their attributes. The system includes negative and serendipitous strategies to also present research projects to donors that are not necessarily aligned with the donor's interests as defined by their attributes.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention include a crowdfunding platform comprising one or more computer systems, one or more memories, and one or more central processing units (CPUs). The crowdfunding platform has one or more alternative interfaces to one or more alternative networks. The alternative networks are not capable of operating directly with the Internet. There are also one or more Internet interfaces to the Internet. A crowdfunding platform receives information about a crowdfunding project from one of the alternative interfaces, processes the information into processed information, sends the processed information over one of the Internet interfaces. Further, the crowdfunding platform receives Internet information over one of the Internet interfaces, translates the Internet information into transformed information, and sends the transformed information over one of the alternative interfaces.
