    摘要: Disclosed is an enclosed planetarium with both fluorescent and phosphorescent painted representations of astronomical bodies, some of the representations may be mobile and rotated and the remainder of the representations may be painted on the inside surface of the enclosure. An ultraviolet light source is provided which upon activation illuminates all of the representations, but upon extinguishment only the phosphorescent painted representations continue to be visible. This provides two different displays both of which have the pleasing effect of ultraviolet illumination.

    摘要: The invention relates to a planet projecting system for simulating the motions of planets and in particular for visualizing the rotations and the phase changes of the Earth. The planet projecting system comprises two cylindrical image mounts which rotate independently of each other, the curved surface of one cylindrical mount is provided with an image of the planet, the curved surface of the other cylindrical mount carries an image of clouds. Two illumination systems illuminate the two image mounts and via respective means the images are projected upon the dome of a planetarium. The spheric shape of a planet is effected by a distortion optical system inserted into the projection beam.

    摘要: A mechanical calculating device is provided which is particularly useful in determining the relationship of the heavenly bodies to specific heavenly positions at different times. The device, in the embodiment to be designed, comprises a base, a first disc rotatably mounted on the base, which has inscribed about its periphery a ring scale divided into twelve sectors each marked with a different Zodiacal sign, and each sector is subdivided into thirty indices each representing one degree of arc. A plurality of transparent discs are rotatably mounted on the base in concentric relationship with one another and with the first disc, the latter discs representing the sun, the moon and the various planets. The latter discs are each provided with an identifying tab, and each is inscribed with a series of lines extending outwardly from a common point adjacent to the tab at selected angles to one another, with each line having a selected color. In operating the device, the various discs are rotated to specific angular positions, as indicated by the tabs and which are established by the astrological calendar known as the Ephemerus which charts the positions of the planets at particular times and dates. In this manner, the transiting planets may be seen in relation to one another.

    摘要: A device and method for extracting information as to when the generalized geographical potentials defined at the individual's birth are likely to manifest themselves in time. The device and method provides and utilizes a transparent overlay that is superimposed on a map having loci of constant planetary angularities. The overlay has updated loci of planetary angularities on the same scale as the map. The reference longitude on the overlay is determined such that the local sidereal time at a given location is the same as the local sidereal time at that location at the time of the individual's birth. To maximize the useful information present on a given overlay, the faster moving planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) are progressed while the slower moving planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) are transitted.

    摘要: An apparatus for presenting astrological data which includes an arrangement for storing astrological data is described. A timer provides repetitively an enabling control signal upon expiration of successive time intervals of given duration, preferably of 24 hour duration, and a disabling signal upon the expiration of a second time interval of the given duration, the disabling signal appearing subsequent to the enabling signal. The stored data is selectively retrieved from the arrangement for storing by a means responsive to the control signals. A data receiver is provided which makes the selectively retrieved data available to individuals. The arrangement for storing is a film strip and/or audio recording, the latter preferably being arranged in a cassette. The data receiver is an audio playback system associated with a sound reproducer and/or an image projector associated with a screen. The stored data may be carried on an opaque strip and the data receiver may be an arrangement which permits the direct viewing of a portion of the opaque strip through an aperture in the housing of the apparatus.

    摘要: A computer for control of a planetarium consisting of separate star field, sun, moon and planet projectors wherein movements of the planets, sun and moon relative to the star field as viewed from outside of, as well as within cis-lunar space may be simulated. The computer serves to control and coordinate the drive means for the various projectors by using the components of a selected viewer position and the various viewed points, at which the projected bodies occur within the star field, relative to the star field and solar origin, for example. The computer translates input coordinates into rectangular or other coordinate components, like components of the various points of which can be accumulated and derives a summation line of sight vector output signal to direct the projection of each projector toward the proper position within the star field.
