Abstract:
A lifting rig includes a cradle and a load transfer device. The load transfer device is arranged to draw in a payload to the cradle or deliver a payload from the cradle. The lifting rig is arranged to be lifted to an elevated space and the load transfer device is arranged to draw in or deliver the payload within the elevated space.
Abstract:
A device and method for lifting cylindrical structures using an overhead crane. The device comprises a lift cap with a lift tab that is the single-point of connection to the crane. The lift cap has a plurality of slots around its perimeter. A plurality of spreader straps are connected to the lift cap at the slots with shackles that permit the straps to slide a limited distance in the slots. The spreader straps hang down from the lift cap and connect it to a lift ring that hangs below the lift cap. The lift ring is comprised of a series of connected spreader bars and is about the same diameter as the grain bin. Slings attached to the spreader bars hang below the lift ring. The loose end of each sling is removably attached to the cylindrical structure.
Abstract:
A lifting support apparatus and system is disclosed with integrated mounting points for lifting straps. The lifting support apparatus comprises a joint shield and arc proof cover. A cable accessory is placed on the joint shield and surrounded on its sides and top by the arc proof cover. The exposed ends of the arc proof cover allow for the visible inspection of the connectors of the cable accessory. By incorporating mounting points on the joint shield, the lifting straps are prevented from sliding along the arc proof cover or becoming dislodged. Further, the joint shield includes at least one rib on its bottom surface to prevent the joint shield from bending.
Abstract:
A module lift assembly includes first and second multipoint adapter plates separated by a horizontal transverse spreader bar; a lift frame having first and second longitudinal lift beams separated by horizontal transverse bracing; a plurality of slings of adjustable length connecting the first multipoint adapter plate to the first lift beam and connecting the second multipoint adapter plate to the second lift beam; and a plurality of slider assemblies each slidingly affixed to the first and second lift beams, and a lift shackle for attaching to a module.
Abstract:
A module lift assembly includes a lift assembly, a pair of transversely spaced apart longitudinal lift beams and slings connecting the lift assembly to the lift beams. Each of slings is pivotally connected to the lift assembly and the connected lift beam, and is composed of pivotally connected elongate segments. Pivoting of the segments relative to each other, the lift assembly and the lift beams allows the lift assembly to be lowered and raised relative to the lift beams.
Abstract:
A triangular lift frame may include a first load block, a second load block and a third lift block, each load block including a hoist ring at each end. A first frame member extends between the first and second load blocks; a second frame member extends between the second and third load blocks; and a third frame member extends between the first and third load blocks. The frame members are arranged in a triangular fashion. In one embodiment, the triangular fashion may be such that a load force carried by each respective pair of load blocks is transmitted linearly longitudinally along a respective frame member extending between the respective pair of load blocks.

Abstract:
Apparatus for lifting and supporting pipelines through which is flowable fuel, gas or hazardous industrial liquids, for maintenance and restoration purposes, which comprises a hybrid sling for supporting a pipeline segment when being raised, where the sling comprises a flexible belt portion contacting an underside of the pipeline segment and a chain portion vertically extending from each end of the belt portions to an element through which a lifting force is transmittable. The sling is assured of being sufficiently structurally strong and dimensionally stable to ensure that the difference in height of any two points of the segment when being raised is not so great as to create a danger to the integrity of the pipeline.
Abstract:
A sling system comprises a plurality of sling units each including a synthetic fibrous sling and a roller unit which has one or more spool-shaped rollers. The system provides for lifting a load in equilibrium and maintaining the load in that position or be rotated or tilted between horizontal and vertical positions. The system provides for a plurality of attachment points of the sling units to the load, and the sling units may be set up as a single array or a multiple array depending on the type of load being lifted, transported and positioned. Endless and continuous loop synthetic slings and multiple roller units are used in sling units and provide for uniform and equal distribution of the load throughout the sling system. The spool-shaped rollers may be molded of a rigid plastics material with each roller having end flanges to confine the synthetic sling.
