A coaxial electrical connecting line is provided with an integrated adjusting device 4 for the mechanical fine adjustment of the electrical length of the line. The adjusting device has outside and inside conductors 6, 7. The outside conductor has two housing parts 14, 15 which can be phaselessly moved toward and away from each other between two terminal positions by turning a clamping sleeve 9. The inside conductor is provided with two telescoping connecting parts 16, 18 that can also be moved toward and away from each other; each is connected with an associated housing part. The inside diameters (D) of the two housing parts and the outside diameters (d) of the two connecting parts are so dimensioned that the adjusting device has a constant impedance over its entire length.

The moving assembly comprises a conductive member (36) that is slidably mounted on the first contact (16) and that possesses a moving contact (40) which co-operates with the second contact (28) when the moving assembly (34) is in the first position, and which is remote from the second contact (28) when the moving assembly (34) is in its second position. A coaxial-to-coplanar waveguide connector is used for interconnecting stripline compatible devices utilizing coaxial cable. The connector is formed at the end of a length of coaxial cable embedded within a circuit board. The connector generally has a substantially semi-circular connection section. The connection section includes a conductor partly surrounded by an electrically insulative dielectric which is partly surrounded by a shield. An electrically conductive sheet is used to couple the shield to a ground plane of the circuit board. Electrically conductive ribbon is connect the conductor to a stripline compatible device. The coaxial-to-coplanar waveguide connector may be fabricated by coating a dielectric board with an adhesive material and then routing a length of miniature coaxial cable in the adhesive. Conductive material and dielectric material are consecutively laid upon the dielectric cable board. A portion of the board including a section of miniature coaxial cable is milled so as to remove a top portion of the cable. An electrically conductive material is coupled to the coaxial shield in order to connect the shield to a ground plane of the circuit board and the stripline compatible device. Furthermore, an additional electrically conductive ribbon is operatively connected from the conductor to the stripline compatible device.
