摘要: Overcurrent circuits are disclosed for preventing overcurrent in shielded coaxial communication cables. A shield breaking element of an overcurrent circuit is adaptable to be coupled in series with a shield conductor of a shielded coaxial cable, and is also configured to open upon conducting a first electrical current that exceeds an overcurrent threshold, thereby preventing the first electrical current from flowing through the shield conductor of a shielded coaxial cable. A signal breaking element of the overcurrent circuit is adaptable to be coupled in series with a signal conductor of the shielded coaxial cable, and is configured to open when the shield breaking element opens thereby preventing a second electrical current from flowing through the signal conductor. Systems and devices that use the overcurrent circuits, for example, to provide alerts and status, are also disclosed.

摘要: A transmission line segment coupler is for coupling together first and second coaxial transmission line segments each including an inner tubular conductor and an outer tubular conductor surrounding the inner tubular conductor and a dielectric therebetween. The coupler apparatus includes an outer tubular bearing body to be positioned within adjacent open ends of the inner tubular conductors of the first and second coaxial transmission line segments, and an inner tubular bearing body configured to slidably move within the outer tubular bearing body to define a linear bearing therewith. The inner tubular bearing body is configured to define a fluid passageway in communication with the adjacent open ends of the inner tubular conductors of the first and second coaxial transmission line segments.

摘要: A connection method of an RF cable end connector and a coaxial cable and an internal terminal used thereof are provided. An insulator is formed outside a body of the internal terminal by embedded molding, making the internal terminal have a composite structure integrated with the insulator. The internal terminal can be connected to the coaxial cable by, for example, clamping. This allows connection between the RF cable end connector and the coaxial cable to be easily accomplished by automatic processes, thereby reducing fabrication costs of RF cable end connector jumpers.

摘要: A protective device for transmitting electromagnetic signals includes an inner conductor that extends coaxially within an outer conductor. To compensate for dimensional tolerances without compromising performance, inner conductor is constructed to include a center pin with a conical end, a plunger pin slidably disposed within an axial bore in the center pin, the plunger pin including a conical end located outside the center pin, and a resilient, expandable, conductive band coaxially mounted onto the conical ends of the center and plunger pins. A gas discharge tube is conductively coupled between the inner and outer conductors to discharge transient voltages transmitted along the inner conductor. To minimize disturbance to the transmission line, the width of the gas discharge tube in the region of contact with the inner conductor is preferably equal to the diameter of the inner conductor. Additionally, the gas discharge tube is preferably greater in length than in width.
