Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling an asset tracking device and, in particular, determining when an asset tracking device attached to a trailer is in close proximity to a truck. The device may enter a sleep mode when the trailer has been coupled to a truck with an electronic logging device (ELD). Thereafter, the device ceases obtaining a GPS location and transmitting the location to a central server. While the trailer and truck remain coupled, the device leverages the ELD by using it to send its GPS location to the central server and therefore, prolong its battery life.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for providing improved power efficiency during DRX wake-up are disclosed. An example method of wireless communication at a UE includes receiving a WUS from a base station while performing a DRX cycle, the WUS indicating data for transmission to the UE. The example method also includes at least one receiving a downlink reference signal or transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the WUS and prior to reception of the data, the uplink reference signal transmitted or the downlink reference signal received during an on-duration of the DRX cycle and in response to receiving the WUS. The example method also includes sending a CSI report to the base station based on the WUS and prior to the receiving of the data. The example method also includes receiving the data following the respective receiving or transmitting of the downlink reference signal or uplink reference signal.

Abstract: A controller is arranged to: receive a first decoded beacon frame which includes a first indication of a first data transmission; receive a second decoded beacon frame which includes a second indication of a second data transmission; compare the first and second decoded beacon frames to determine common bytes in the first and second decoded beacon frames; determine an expected time of receiving the common bytes in a third beacon frame; control a device to enter into a low power mode; and control the device to wake up from the low power mode at a time to receive and decode at least a portion of the third beacon frame, in which the time to wake up is based on the expected time to receive the common bytes instead of based on an expected time to receive a preamble at a start of the third beacon frame.

Abstract: A radio access network node configured for DRX off mode operation may schedule configured grants for a user equipment to occur during one or more DRX OFF mode periods. The node may transmit to one or more user equipment a configured grant activation configuration indicative of a configured grant control channel resource to be available during discontinuous reception OFF periods. The configured grant activation configuration may comprise a scrambling code corresponding to a user equipment usable by the user equipment to receive updates to the configured grant activation configuration. The user equipment may request, via a configured grant activation control channel resource configured by the configured grant activation configuration, overriding of a DRX OFF period to activate one or more scheduled configured grant occasions that overlap one or more DRX OFF periods. The user equipment may transmit uplink traffic to the node via one or more activated configured grant occasions.

Abstract: This application discloses a communication method and apparatus. In embodiments of this application, when a terminal device in a sleep state needs to send a scheduling request or a NACK, the terminal device enters a wake-up state. The terminal device can receive, within a sleep time period, a physical downlink control channel that schedules a resource for the scheduling request or the NACK, without waiting for the sleep time period to end before receiving the physical downlink control channel. Therefore, while power consumption of the terminal device is reduced, it is ensured that the physical downlink control channel corresponding to uplink data scheduling that is corresponding to the scheduling request or the physical downlink control channel corresponding to retransmission scheduling of downlink data that is corresponding to the NACK is received as early as possible, thereby reducing a delay of the physical downlink control channel.
