摘要： A hand-held dry hydro-massage unit for use in a spa tub to allow the user to direct the soothing effects of the hydro-therapeutic massage to specific portions of the body. The hand held unit is normally used in conjuction with a hydrotherapy spa tub to provide separate air and water supplies to the unit. The air and water are mixed by a discharge jet which forces the mixture onto the inside surface of a flexible diaphragm. The diaphragm encloses the unit such that the water is not discharged but is returned back through the supply line to the tub. The unit therefore provides a dry massage of the user eliminating the annoying water discharge and splash of conventional hydro-therapy devices.

摘要： A unit for use in a tub or spa to provide a dry hydro-massage of the neck and shoulders. The unit mounts to the tub edge and includes a diaphragm which sealingly covers a discharge jet such that the fluid will flex the diaphragm into massaging relationship with the user's body. The water is exhausted into the tub through a secondary port below the water line such that dry hydro-therapy is provided by the unit. The unit is mounted to the side wall of the tub spa. The inflation of the diaphragm is controlled by pressure regulating ports formed within the housing to control the exhaust of fluid from the jet chamber. In one embodiment, the ports are variable to vary the inflation pressure of the diaphragm. With the unit mounted to the tub the user may remain seated within the spa while the unit provides a dry hydro-massage of the neck and upper back normally positioned above the water line. The diaphragm unit is adapted to be utilized with various jet nozzles.

摘要： A water jet massage apparatus comprises a platform having a bench mounted thereon, and an overlying lid arranged for pivotal movement between an open position in which a person may gain access to the bench and a closed position in which the lid is lowered onto the bench. The lid includes top, front, rear, and opposite side walls, and also has a bottom wall formed of flexible, water-proof material which drapes over and covers a person reclining on the bench when the lid closed. The water-tight cavity in the lid defined by the aforementioned walls contains a laterally extending, longitudinally movable water manifold which mounts and supplies water to a plurality of pulsating water jet spray heads which direct a multitude of pulsating jets of water downward onto the flexible bottom wall which loosely covers a person reclining on the bench, keeping him dry. Spent water from the water jet heads finds its way to side gutters in the chamber whereupon the water drains from the water-tight cavity into a holding tank where it is reheated and recycled continuously. The effect is a multitude of pulsating massaging water jets impinging on the flexible material draped across the body, the spray head assembly also moving longitudinally through the chamber from head to toe or any desired portion thereof.

摘要： A liquid jet massage device (10) for producing selectively rotating jets of liquid for massaging the body of a user. The device (10) comprises a movable carriage (13) provided with a conduit for carrying liquid dispensed to the carriage (13) by suitable pump system. The device (10) comprises at least one, and in the preferred embodiment two, liquid dispensing primary head members (11, 12) rotatably mounted on the movable carriage (13). The primary head members (11, 12) define a liquid reservoir (42) for receiving the liquid from the conduit (32), the bottom portions (40) of the head members (11, 12) defining axial openings (46) for establishing liquid communications between the reservoir (42) and the conduit (32). The top portion of the head members (11, 12) are provided with axially displaced nozzles (45) for discharging liquid from the reservoirs (42) thereby producing jets of liquid. The primary head members (11, 12) further define a circumferential gear surfaces (41) to facilitate rotation of the head members. A first gear assembly (16) is provided for facilitating the selective travel of the movable carriage, and a second gear assembly (17) is provided for rotatably engaging the circumferential gear surface of at least one of the primary head members for facilitating the selected rotation of the primary head members (11, 12).

摘要： A chiropractic thruster for use in chiropractic treatment to apply controlled impact forces or thrusts to a human body comprises a rubber tipped free-floating punch, the length of stroke of which can be adjusted to control the force applied to the body. The punch delivers one stroke whenever the trigger of a three-way poppet valve is depressed and causes a burst of compressed air to flow from a relatively large compressed air reservoir in the thruster handle to one side of a spring-biased piston in a relatively smaller air cylinder located in the thruster. The piston comprises a piston rod which drives the punch and which, when the piston is biased to retracted position, is spaced from the inner end of the punch by a predetermined distance.
