摘要: An auto-injector assembly comprises a medicament container defining a substantially cylindrical chamber containing a liquid medicament. A proximal end of the chamber is closed by a piston and a distal end of the chamber is closed by a seal spanning an opening. A biasing means, such as a spring, is coupled to the piston and acts to bias the piston towards the seal, thereby pressurizing the liquid medicament. The assembly also comprises a hypodermic needle and a removable needle cap for maintaining the hypodermic needle in sterile conditions until use. A means for establishes fluid communication between the chamber and the hypodermic needle such that the pressurized liquid medicament is automatically delivered through the hypodermic needle when communication has been established.

摘要: An injection device suitable for use with infants is disclosed. The injection device is formed from a body shield member and a cylindrical handle. The body shield member includes a concave flange at the base, which is pressed against the patient's limb and reduces local compression at the needle insertion site. The injection device also has a softer form and operates through a pressing motion. A catch member is located in the cylindrical handle, and is deployed upon fully depressing the handle. Once the handle returns to its starting position, the catch member prevents the handle from being depressed a second time and permitting the used needle to be exposed.

The piston rod is movable between a first rest position, a second pricking position, and a third injection position. An actuator spring (6) is provided to urge the piston rod towards its pricking position and then towards its injection position. A force-adjustment system (7, 8) exerts a force (F1, F2) on the piston rod (5). The force (F1) opposes the force exerted by the actuator spring at the end of pricking to decrease the force exerted on the reservoir by the piston rod at the end of pricking, and the force (F2) adding to the force exerted by the actuator spring at the beginning of injection, to amplify the force exerted on the piston by the piston rod at the beginning of injection.

摘要: A device for injecting a medicament includes a housing for a medicament container assembly, and an activation member axially movable relative to the housing between extended and retracted positions with a gripping member. A movement guide mechanism includes a first guide, a second guide that has a locking portion, and a guide follower that slides along the first guide when the activation member moves from the extended position to the retracted position and that slides along the second guide when the activation member moves from the retracted position to the extended position. The gripping member engages the container assembly when the activation member is in the retracted position. The locking portion interacts with the guide follower when the activation member moves from the retracted position to the extended position to restrict movement of the activation member. A method of assembling a delivery device is also disclosed.
