    摘要: A rear view mirror for vehicles is provided on a mirror housing having a remotely controllable motorized driving unit mounted inside it for turning the housing to adjust the mirror viewing range, yet enabling displacement of the housing without effect from or to the driving unit. A gear casing having an electric motor mounted on it contains speed reducing gears, is supported on and turnable about a mirror supporting post protruding from the housing, and is fixed to the housing to position the housing by movement about the axis of a ring gear that normally is held fixed relative to the post. The ring gear is connected with the post via a spring biased clutch that slips to enable forcible turning of the housing by hand or in the event of impact with an obstruction.

    摘要: A door mirror structure reduces vehicle width when the mirror is retracted, prevents vibration of the mirror when the vehicle is traveling, and improves visibility from the vehicle interior. Embodiments include a door mirror body unit; and a mirror base having a tip portion fixed to the door mirror body unit and a base end portion away from the tip portion. The base end portion is attached to the side door so that the door mirror body unit and the mirror base are movable between a mirror use position at which the mirror is visible from a vehicle interior and a retraction position located on an inner side in a vehicle width direction of the mirror use position. A driving unit moves the door mirror body unit and the mirror base between the mirror use position and the retraction position. The driving unit is located in the side door.

    摘要: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror system includes an exterior rearview mirror assembly configured for attachment at a vehicle and an electrically-operable actuator. An exterior mirror head is movable relative to an exterior portion of the vehicle via operation of the actuator. The exterior mirror head accommodates an exterior mirror reflective element attached at an attachment plate. A heater pad is disposed between the exterior mirror reflective element and the attachment plate. An outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element is exposed to and is viewable by a driver of the vehicle and is contactable. The attachment plate includes wall structure that spans a perimeter circumferential edge of the exterior mirror reflective element. No part of the exterior mirror head encroaches onto the outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element. No part of the exterior mirror head overlaps the outermost side of the exterior mirror reflective element.

The adjusting instrument further comprises a driving gearwheel, a gearwheel body, and a spring. The driving gearwheel includes a face provided with an outer toothing surrounding the base shaft, defining a face height within which a web part of the gearwheel body extends in a transverse plane with respect to the base shaft. The spring surrounds the base shaft and is supported on a support surface of the gearwheel body, exerting a force on the driving gearwheel along the longitudinal axis. The support surface lies recessed in an axial direction with respect to the transverse plane, such that the spring reaches through the transverse plane.
