    Abstract: An engine test apparatus includes a dynamometer connected to an engine through a shaft, and a control device configured to control operations of the engine and the dynamometer, and the engine test apparatus further includes a speed measuring device configured to measure a rotation speed of the output shaft of the engine and transmit the rotation speed to the control device the control device includes an engine control unit configured to control operation of the engine, and a dynamometer control unit configured to control operation of the dynamometer, the dynamometer control unit uses the rotation speed transmitted from the speed measuring device to generate a torque current command corresponding to a torque value to be generated by the dynamometer, in order to operate the engine controlled to be operated by the engine control unit in an unloaded state as if the shaft and the dynamometer are not connected.

    Abstract: Provided is an overload prevention mechanism having a structure that protects a weight sensor with a floating action and ensuring the reproducibility of the return position of the weight sensor. The overload prevention mechanism has a resilient member that is interposed between the weight sensor and the case, supports the weight sensor in a pressing manner against the case, and when a certain plate load or greater is imposed causes the weight sensor to separate from the case and thereby be released from the load, a guide member that is arranged in a standing manner between the weight sensor and the case, and a guide receiving seat that is provided in the weight sensor or the case and engages with the guide member.

    Abstract: [Problem] To increase basic performances of a load cell by forming nearly circular apertures at two positions of the load cell out of four thin sections, in all, of the load cell.[Means of Overcoming Problem] A load cell (10) includes a flexural element (12) in which a Roberval mechanism is formed by a pair of top and bottom parallel beams (14, 15) each including two thin sections (18) at a back and a front in a longitudinal direction, which are integrated with a fixed portion (16) and a movable portion (17), and strain gauges (20) bonded to the thin sections (18). Strain gauges (20) are bonded to one of the thin sections of pulling side (18a) and to one of the thin sections of compressing side (18b), and circular apertures are formed through the remaining two thin sections 18. The performances of the load cell such as the reduction of the measurement error and of the period of time before the start of the measurement are achieved.
