    Abstract: An air filter element includes (a) an open filter interior having a first closed end and a second open end opposite the first closed end; the second open end having an air flow aperture therethrough; (b) filter media provided in a pleated configuration and arranged around the open filter interior between the first closed end and the second open end; (c) a seal arrangement positioned at the open end of the filter element and includes an inner perimeter radial facing surface and an opposite, outer perimeter radial facing surface, wherein the inner perimeter radial facing surface includes a seal surface, and wherein one of the inner perimeter radial facing surface and the outer perimeter radial facing surface is a circular surface and the other of the inner perimeter radial facing surface and the outer perimeter radial facing surface is a non-circular surface.

    Abstract: A filter element has an upstream and downstream side. A filter media assembly of the filter element has an upstream side and a downstream side and has a first filter media layer and a second filter media layer that is adjacent to the first media layer. A substantial portion of the first layer and second layer are uncoupled, and at least one of the first media layer and second media layer comprises binder fiber. The second media layer has a mean flow pore size equal to or smaller than the first media layer. A support layer system is adjacent to the downstream side of the filter media assembly, and a first wire mesh layer is adjacent to the support layer system. At least the first media layer, second media layer, support layer system, and first wire mesh cooperatively define pleats at a pleat packing density of greater than 125%.

    Abstract: A vent assembly (100) has a vent body (110) defining a first end (104) and a second end (106), a central axis extending from the first end to the second end, and an inner surface defining a cavity. A first retainer extends across the cavity towards the first end of the vent body, and a second retainer (140) extends across the cavity towards the second end of the vent body. The first retainer defines a first retainer opening extending to a first radial distance from the central axis, and the second retainer defines a second retainer opening extending to a second radial distance from the central axis, where the second radial distance is greater than the first radial distance. Coalescing filter media is disposed in the cavity between the first retainer and the second retainer. The coalescing filter media, the cavity, the first retainer, and the second retainer cumulatively define an airflow pathway.

    Abstract: An air cleaner includes a housing and an access cover. The internal volume of the housing can be reached through an opening in a side wall of the housing. A filter element having fluted filter media is removable and replaceable from the air cleaner. The housing is constructed and arranged to cam the element into sealing engagement with the housing. The access cover includes structure to help support and ensure proper seating of the filter element within the housing. A method of installing the filter element in the air cleaner includes sliding a portion of the filter element against a slide surface in the housing. A method of servicing an air cleaner includes tilting the filter element against a tilt surface in the housing to release a seal between the filter element and the housing. The filter element can have a handle to assist in servicing of the air cleaner. The housing can have a window to allow visual inspection of the internal component of the housing and to determine visually whether a filter element is installed therein.

    Abstract: Aspects herein include filter systems including short-range wireless tracking features to detect insertion and/or removal of filter elements from filter systems. In an embodiment, a filtration system is included having a housing including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The housing can define an internal volume. A first filter element can be removably disposed within the housing. A short-range wireless communication tag can be associated with the first filter element. A short-range wireless communication reader can be associated with the housing, the reader configured to wirelessly send data to and receive data from the tag when the reader and the tag are at a distance that is less than or equal to a maximum communication distance. Removal of the first filter element from the housing can cause the distance between the tag and the reader to exceed the maximum communication distance. Other embodiments are also included herein.
