摘要: A floor console to provide ambient lighting in the interior of a vehicle is disclosed. The floor console includes lighting elements strategically positioned to illuminate the footwells of the vehicle, the cupholders, and the storage bin. The same lighting element may be used to illuminate one or more of the cupholders and the storage bin. The preferred lighting element is an LED while other lighting elements may be used. The floor console is also provided with wiring and an ECU and may be readily connected to the vehicle's power system.

摘要: The present application describes a method and apparatus for implanting a medical device within a living body. The apparatus includes an elongate sleeve positionable with a living body, such as within a blood vessel, and a medical device insertable into the sleeve. During use, the sleeve is retained with the body, and the medical device is sealed within the sleeve. The sleeve substantially avoids biological growth onto the medical device, and thus permits removal of the medical device independently of the sleeve.

摘要: A percutaneously implantable device for the treatment of a cardiac condition or other disease is disclosed herein, the device capable of delivery and maintenance of a therapeutic scaffold. A therapeutic scaffold may comprise viable tissue to impart or restore normal cardiac function, or other therapeutic agent for the treatment of disease or injury. Viable tissue may comprise a pacemaker gene or other genes intended to impart a pacemaker function to either host tissue or transplanted tissue, or both. Further, a device according to the invention may be used for the implantation and maintenance of viable tissue to induce or enhance muscle contraction of a subject for the treatment of a disease or disorder.

摘要: An oropharyngeal device for insertion into the mouth of a patient. The device includes a body having a distal end and a proximal end with a flange formed at the proximal end. The distal end of the body is inserted into the mouth of the patient until the flange at the proximal end is disposed outside and adjacent to the patient's mouth. The flange keeps the proximal device from entering the mouth. The body is sized such that the distal end of the body is disposed within the pharynx above the epiglottis. The device includes a channel through the body that forms an airway between its proximal and distal ends. The device also includes at least three separate conduits integrated into the body for administering oxygen, suctioning, and for assessing ventilation through end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring. The conduits for oxygenation and suctioning extend through the body between its proximal and distal ends. The conduit for end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring extends along and is attached to a side wall of the channel and terminates within the channel.

摘要: This disclosure in certain embodiments relates to thermoplastic sheet compositions and applications incorporating such materials. More specifically this disclosure addresses thermoplastic sheets comprising: a) from 5 to 98.5 wt % of an essentially uncross-linked, random ethylene copolymer having from 20 wt % to 90 wt % repeat units from ethylene and from 10 wt % to 80 wt % of repeat units from one or more other ethylenically unsaturated monomers based upon the weight of the random ethylene copolymer; b) from 0.3 to 83.5 wt % of a polypropylene-based thermoplastic; and c) from 0.3 to 24.5 wt % of a vulcanized rubber dispersed phase. The disclosure also relates to methods of making the sheet compositions. One method includes incorporating a thermoplastic vulcanizate to provide the c) vulcanized rubber and in come cases, to supplement the b) polypropylene thermoplastic. Another method relates to melt blending polymer blends in appropriate proportions in the presence of a curing agent to effect dynamic vulcanization of a cross-linkable rubber component. Improved welding characteristics and weld strength of the sheets and reduced blocking in the extrusion step of producing the sheets is achieved.
