Abstract: A system is disclosed for capacitively capturing electrical biosignals from a biosignal source in a medical care screening or monitoring environment. The system comprises: a sheet; two capacitive electrodes supported by the sheet: a printed circuit board, PCB, supported by the sheet; two stretchable contacts respectively arranged between each capacitive electrode and the PCB, wherein each stretchable contact is configured to stretch to permit relative movement between its respective capacitive electrode and the PCB while maintaining electrical contact between the PCB and its respective capacitive electrode.

Abstract: A biometric measurement device including a photodiode array having a number of photodiodes and at least one polarization filter covering at least one of the photodiodes. The biometric measurement device also includes a light-emitting diode array having a number of light-emitting diodes proximate to the photodiode array, a non-volatile memory device, and a processor in electronic communication with the non-volatile memory device. The photodiode array is configured to receive a reflected waveform from light emitted from the light-emitting diode array, and the processor is configured to determine at least one physiological parameter based on a pulsatile (AC) component and a static (DC) component of the reflected waveform. The light-emitting diodes may emit polarized light.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device and method for monitoring thoracic and abdominal breathing patterns, and relates to the technical field of breathing monitoring. The device includes a wearable vest internally covered with a layer of membrane pressure sensors, a micro control unit (MCU), and a liquid crystal display (LCD). Membrane pressure sensors are disposed in chest, abdomen, and shoulder regions of the wearable vest, and configured to acquire pressure strain values generated by chest, abdomen, and shoulders of a wearer when the wearer is breathing and transmit the pressure strain values to the MCU. The MCU is configured to identify a breathing pattern of the wearer according to the pressure strain values. The LCD is configured to display the pressure strain values of different regions of the wearable vest and the breathing pattern of the wearer in real time three-dimensionally.

Abstract: A computer system receives a plurality of signals corresponding to first time-series magnetic data generated from a plurality of unshielded magnetometers proximate to the human subject. The first time-series magnetic data corresponds to magnetic fields generated from the human subject. The plurality of signals includes contributions from a biomagnetic field from at least a portion of the subject's organ and a background magnetic field. The computer system synchronizes the first time-series magnetic data to a common clock to generate synchronized time-series magnetic data. The computer system applies one or more filters to the synchronized time-series magnetic data to obtain filtered data. The computer system applies one or more noise reduction techniques to the filtered data to generate updated time-series magnetic data.

Abstract: A system includes piezoelectric nanofibers, an encapsulation polymer, and patterned electrodes in an array. The array structure of the electrodes can create separate piezoelectric sensor elements, which can detect pressure from pressure such as arterial pulse waves. The sensors arrays can be used to detect the pulse wave velocity of the arterial pulse while it is superficial to near-surface arteries. This can enable detection of blood pressure in a wireless manner.

Abstract: An electronic fitness device comprises a first optical transmitter, a second optical transmitter, a first optical receiver, a second optical receiver, and a processing element. The first optical transmitter is configured to transmit a first optical signal having a first wavelength and the second optical transmitter is configured to transmit a second optical signal having the first wavelength. The first and second optical receivers are configured to receive the first and second optical signals, respectively, and to generate first and second photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals, respectively, resulting from the received optical signals. The processing element is configured to receive and compare the first and second PPG signals, identify a common component present in the first and the second PPG signals based on the comparison, and generate a cardiac component from the first and second PPG signals based on the identified common component.
