Abstract: An example technique for creating a voxel representation of a three dimensional (3-D) object can include obtaining a shape specification of a 3-D object and a number of 3-D objectives. The example technique for creating a voxel representation of the 3-D object can also include creating a voxel representation of the 3-D object by assigning a material type from a number of material types to each voxel of the voxel representation that defines the 3-D object. The example technique creating a voxel representation of a 3-D object can also include evaluating the voxel representation to determine whether the number of objectives are met.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for three-dimensional object representation are described. In an example, data representing a three-dimensional object is received, the data comprising an object property description associated with each of a plurality of locations within the object. Distinct object property descriptions are identified and a data object, which has a plurality of addresses, is populated with data indicative of the distinct object property descriptions, such that data indicative of each distinct object property description is represented at a different address. Data comprising a representation of the object is generated, the data comprising a data object address associated with each of a plurality of locations, wherein the data object address corresponds to the address of data indicative of the object property description for that location.

Abstract: A method and apparatus partition a AM build bed of a AM unit into a first virtual build bed and a second virtual build bed. The first virtual build bed is assigned to a first user while the second virtual build bed assigned to a second user. A first digital file for a first object to be generated in the first virtual build bed is received from the first user. A second digital file for a second object to be generated in the second virtual build bed is receive from the second user. Output signals are transmitted to the AM unit to generate the first object in the first virtual build bed and the second object in the second virtual build bed during a build cycle.

Abstract: Scheduling of manufacturing jobs is described herein. In accordance with an example, the scheduling of manufacturing jobs includes obtaining an order parameter associated with a product to be manufactured on a manufacturing equipment set. A product dimension of an intermediate product for the product is determined based on the order parameter and a production attribute. Further, the manufacturing job is scheduled for the product amongst manufacturing jobs for other products to be manufactured on the manufacturing equipment set, based on the product dimension of the intermediate product and a scheduling criterion. The scheduling criterion can be a parameter to regulate the scheduling of the manufacturing jobs on the manufacturing equipment set.
