Abstract: A heater may be to heat build material during a three-dimensional print job. A sensor may be to measure a temperature distribution of the build material. A processor may be to obtain first temperature data representing a first temperature distribution of build material associated with normal functioning of the heater. The processor may be to obtain second temperature data representing a second temperature distribution of the build material to be measured by the temperature sensor during the three-dimensional print job. The processor may be to compare the first temperature distribution to the second temperature distribution. The processor may be to determine whether the heater is malfunctioning based on the comparison.

The method comprises reading a content of the header of the 3D printing file, identifying, based on the header content, a relation file among the plurality of compressed files, identifying, based on the relation file, a main 3D model file among the plurality of compressed files. Further the method comprises creating, by uncompressing the main 3D model file, a data stream, and analyzing, with a parser, the data stream, thereby directly processing the main 3D model file when being uncompressed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus partition a AM build bed of a AM unit into a first virtual build bed and a second virtual build bed. The first virtual build bed is assigned to a first user while the second virtual build bed assigned to a second user. A first digital file for a first object to be generated in the first virtual build bed is received from the first user. A second digital file for a second object to be generated in the second virtual build bed is receive from the second user. Output signals are transmitted to the AM unit to generate the first object in the first virtual build bed and the second object in the second virtual build bed during a build cycle.

Abstract: Measures for use in an additive manufacturing system. The temperature of at least one build material delivery hole in a printbed area of the system is measured. An emissivity of the at least one build material delivery hole is compared with a known emissivity of a build material being used in additive manufacturing by the system at the measured temperature. In response to the comparison indicating a difference in emissivity, it is determined that at least a portion of the at least one build material delivery hole is not covered by build material.

Abstract: A method of controlling a heating sub-system in an additive manufacturing system. The method comprising receiving thermal imaging information from a temperature sensing subsystem, receiving additive manufacturing media concentration information from an additive manufacturing media concentration information database, on the basis of the received thermal imaging information and additive manufacturing media concentration information, for each pixel area in the plurality of pixel areas, determining the temperature for each additive manufacturing media agent in the plurality of additive manufacturing media agents which is present in the respective pixel area, and on the basis of the determined temperatures for each pixel area and additive manufacturing media agent, controlling the power to a heating subsystem employed in the given additive manufacturing process.
