摘要: An apparatus for charging a negative-pressure source is described. The apparatus includes a body having a first end, a second end, a suction chamber, and a longitudinal axis. A slider at least partially surrounds the body and is configured to slide relative to the body parallel to the longitudinal axis. A piston is disposed in the suction chamber and slidable relative to the body parallel to the longitudinal axis. The apparatus includes a rod having a first end coupled to the slider and a second end coupled to the piston. The first end and the second end can move parallel to the longitudinal axis in opposite directions. An end cap is coupled to the body. The end cap is configured to locate at least one constant force spring and turn the rod from the first direction to the second direction.

摘要: The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to an apparatus, system, and method for storing liquid from a tissue site. The apparatus may include a drape having an aperture, and a fluid pouch coupled to the drape such that the fluid pouch is in fluid communication with the aperture. In one embodiment, the fluid pouch is operable to transfer reduced pressure to the aperture such that the liquid from the tissue site is drawn into the fluid pouch. The fluid pouch may have a cavity that stores the liquid that is drawn from the tissue site. In another embodiment, the fluid pouch may include at least one baffle. The fluid pouch may also include a fluid channel at least partially defined by the at least one baffle. The fluid channel may be operable to store liquid from the tissue site when reduced pressure is applied through the fluid channel.

摘要: In an example is a system for treating a tissue site. The system may comprise a container having a liquid reservoir adapted to be fluidly coupled to the dressing. The container may comprise a liquid-degradable component configured to allow gas communication between the liquid reservoir and an external environment upon a liquid level within the liquid reservoir reaching a predetermined level. The liquid-degradable component may also be configured to restrict gas communication between the liquid reservoir and the external environment prior to the liquid level within the liquid reservoir reaching the predetermined level. The container may also comprise a hydrophobic filter configured to allow gas communication and to restrict liquid communication between the liquid reservoir and the external environment. The system may also comprise a negative-pressure source adapted to be fluidly coupled to the container.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with low-profile distribution components for wound therapy. Such apparatus may include a low-profile dressing interface or connector comprising at least two fluid pathways fluidly coupled to a recessed space of the connector, one for providing negative pressure to a tissue interface or manifold and the other for sensing the negative pressure within the recessed space adjacent the tissue interface. In some embodiments, a pressure-offloading layer may be disposed against at least one of the fluid pathways. The pressure-offloading layer may comprise a polymeric foam to distribute compressive forces being applied to the dressing interface, thereby enhancing resistance of the fluid pathways to collapsing and blockage when the dressing interface is subject to external compression. In some embodiments, two pressure-offloading layers may be utilized.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for generating and releasing iodine are described. Some embodiments may include a dressing member including a plurality of iodine-forming reagents and a water-swellable material. In some embodiments, the dressing member may include water-swellable fibers. The water-swellable fibers may each include a water-swellable material in which iodine-forming reagents are dispersed. As liquid comes into contact with and is absorbed by the water-swellable material, the iodine-forming reagents may come into contact with each other, causing an iodine-forming reaction to occur, producing iodine.

摘要: Systems and devices for treating a tissue site may include an interface adapted to provide a reduced pressure to a dressing. The interface may include a positive-pressure channel for delivering a positive pressure from a positive-pressure port to a positive pressure outlet. The positive-pressure channel may include a constricted portion configured to provide a pressure drop. The interface may additionally include a reduced-pressure channel adapted to deliver reduced pressure to the dressing that substantially corresponds to the pressure drop. The reduced-pressure channel may be fluidly coupled between the positive pressure channel and a side of the interface body adapted to face the dressing. Other systems and devices are disclosed.
