摘要: Disclosed herein are improved methods and apparatuses for providing hemostasis within a cavity defined by an internal surface of a bleeding tissue space. A catheter comprising a proximal end and a distal end may be advanced into the cavity through a proximal opening of the tissue space into the cavity. A distal balloon coupled to the catheter may be positioned adjacent a distal opening of the tissue space, and expanded to seal the distal opening. A hemostatic agent may be applied from the catheter to the internal surface of the tissue space to inhibit bleeding of the tissue space. The hemostatic agent may be applied without occluding the proximal opening, the distal opening, and a path extending therebetween with the hemostatic agent.

摘要: An emergency head trauma bandage cap with a detachable strap system and method of use, which, when applied to the head, delivers minimal pressure to control bleeding, doesn't compromise cervical spine immobilization, allows for fast and effective application of cooling gel to control intracranial/internal swelling or hot packs to prevent hypothermia in non-trauma situations, doesn't come apart during treatment and transport, and doesn't require a caregiver to re-wrap the dressing.

摘要: Manifold structures, systems, and methods are disclosed that include using longitudinal members and one or more shaped projections to cause microstrain at a tissue site. In one instance a manifold structure includes a plurality of spaced longitudinal members and at least one shaped projection coupled to at least one of the plurality of longitudinal members for creating a microstrain at a tissue site. The at least one shaped projection includes a columnar member having a distal end and includes an enlarged member positioned at the distal end of the columnar member. The columnar member has a first outer diameter (D1) and the enlarged member has a second outer diameter (D2). The second outer diameter of the enlarged member is greater than the first outer diameter of the columnar member (D2>D1). Other systems, methods, and structures are presented.

摘要: A combination hanger arm extension and pump cover device can be used with an instillation unit. The device includes a body portion that has a first end and a second end. A hook extends from the first end, and a tab extends from the body proximate the hook. A panel is disposed proximate the second end. A substantially rectangular sleeve extends at least partially through the body. The sleeve is disposed between the first and second end.

摘要: Dressings for treating a tissue site with negative pressure are disclosed, which may include a dressing having at least three layers assembled in a stacked relationship. In one example embodiment, a first film may comprise a non-porous material and a plurality of fluid restrictions. A first manifold layer may be adjacent to the first film and may comprise a second film of a transparent material having blisters and a manifold area. The first manifold layer may further comprise apertures configured to allow fluid transfer through the second film. A second manifold layer may be adjacent to the first manifold layer and may comprise foam having a contact area that is less than the manifold area of the first manifold layer.

摘要: Many embodiments of wound filling devices and methods of their use in systems for the application of negative pressure therapy are described herein. In one embodiment, a wound filling device comprises: an inflatable bag member having at least one fluid carrying conduit operably connected thereto to inflate/deflate said bag member; a separate textured covering sock member at least partially covering the inflatable bag member. Another embodiment comprises a three-dimensional wound packing member, and may optionally comprise a plurality of such members linked together. Certain embodiments of wound packing members may comprise a porous bag member adapted to be non-adherent to the wound. Yet other embodiments may comprise a non-porous bag member provided with means to connect a fluid supply to the interior.

摘要: Disclosed are hybrid wound dressings that include at least one front layer of a hydrophilic absorbent material and at least one layer behind the front layer that is made of an open-celled polymeric foam made from high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs). The hydrophilic absorbent material may be a natural polymeric material; a synthetic, non-foam polymer; or a material like glass microfiber. Each layer has a rate of fluid absorption and a capillary suction pressure (CSP) for a working fluid like blood plasma. The CSP increases from the front layer toward the layers behind the front layer, such that fluid is drawn away from a wound.
