摘要: A system comprises a negative-pressure source including a pump and an electric motor for maintaining negative-pressure at the wound and a pressure sensor for sensing a wound site pressure (WP). The system further comprises a system controller coupled to the first pressure sensor and the electric motor. The system controller maintains the wound site pressure (WP) within a hysteresis band by the application of power to the electric motor from a battery power source, based upon, at least in part a flow rate (FR) of fluid between the pump and the wound site as determined by the system controller. The hysteresis band including a maximum wound site pressure (WPMax) and a minimum wound site pressure (WPMin).

摘要: A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure, having an integrated sensor comprising a force or load measurement sensor. The sensor may telemeter to a therapy system the deformation of the dressing as the dressing is pushed into the tissue site during the application of negative pressure to the tissue site. The sensor may measure the force that is applied to the dressing. Measurements of the force applied to the dressing may be taken using the sensor on a periodic basis during negative-pressure therapy to enable monitoring of the fill level of the tissue site as granulation tissue fills the tissue site. Monitoring of the force applied to the tissue site over the course of negative-pressure therapy may assist a clinician in making decisions on how to manage and treat the patient, as well as providing confirmatory data about the efficacy of the therapy.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Some embodiments are illustrative of an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure to a tissue site that can be used in conjunction with sensing properties of fluids extracted from a tissue site. For example, an apparatus may comprise a dressing interface or connector that includes a pH sensor, a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and/or a pressure sensor embodied on a single pad within the connector and proximate the tissue site to provide data indicative of acidity, humidity, temperature and pressure. Such apparatus may further comprise an ambient port for providing the pressure sensor and the humidity sensor with access to the ambient environment providing readings relative to the atmospheric pressure and humidity.

摘要: Disclosed dressing embodiments may include a tissue interface and a cover, with the tissue interface shaped anatomically for interaction with a specific anatomical region, such as a foot. Such tissue interface embodiments would typically comprise a manifold and a fluid control layer having a plurality of fluid restrictions, with the manifold disposed in a stacked relationship with the fluid control layer. Some embodiments of the tissue interface might also include a gel layer in a stacked relationship with the fluid control layer, opposite the manifold. For foot dressings, tissue interface embodiments may be shaped with a hindfoot section, an underfoot section, and a forefoot extension section.
