Abstract: When received data is decoded, a CPU stores a value “1”, which is included in a vector obtained by multiplying the received data by a parity check matrix, as the number of parity errors and also stores hard-decision result information corresponding to the number of parity errors in an output candidate information storage area. If the CPU determines that the received data is uncorrectable after the received data is decoded a given number of times, it reads hard-decision result information corresponding to the smallest number of parity errors, which are included in the number of parity errors stored in the output candidate information storage area and outputs it as a decoding result.

Abstract: A drive control device of a DC brushless multi-phase motor performs the speed control of the motor in place microprocessor, the burden on the microprocessor is relieved. The drive control device detects a zero crossing point of the back electromotive force in the non-energizing phase to perform the energizing switching to the coils by the PLL control, and includes a current detection circuit that detects currents flowing through the coils to perform the speed control of the motor based on the detected currents. The drive control device also, compares outputs from speed error detection circuit with outputs from the current detection circuit to determine the currents to be made to flow through the coils, and thereby controls the current output circuit.

Abstract: In a layout method for an LSI having a plurality of cells, automated arrangement of cells is performed on the basis of a netlist, which has cells and connection data therefor, and timing conditions, and, once a timing optimization processing is performed so that a plurality of cells are arranged on a chip, global wiring processing is implemented and the wiring congestion rate is analyzed. In addition, in small regions where a wiring congestion rate is so high that detailed wiring processing is judged to be difficult, cell rearrangement processing is implemented. Next, detailed wiring processing is performed with respect to the cells which have been rearranged. The rearrangement of cells is performed only in small regions with a high congestion rate, with the result that the overall cell arrangement in which timing is optimized is not changed markedly, whereby it is possible to reduce the probability of wiring being impossible in the course of the detailed wiring processing.

Abstract: A plasma display panel with high accuracy of addressing is provided by suppressing spread of address discharge in the column direction. The plasma display panel includes first main electrodes and second main electrodes for row selection and address electrodes for column selection. A discharge space is continuous over the full length of the screen in each column. The address electrode is patterned in such a way that each first area opposed to the second main electrode is smaller than each second area opposed to the metal film of the first main electrode, in corresponding third areas between partitions of each column of the display panel.

Abstract: A plasma display panel is provided in which a reliability of addressing is ensured, a flicker is reduced and the area that a cross talk can spread in the column direction is decreased so that a fluctuation of the display can be reduced. The plasma display panel has a first display electrode and a second display electrode that make an electrode pair for surface discharge. The first and the second display electrodes share one electrode for display of neighboring two rows. A partition is provided that divides a discharge gas space in the column direction only in the area where the first display electrode that is not used as a scanning electrode is positioned.
