The apparatus includes: a channel estimator for estimating a channel established by a transmission path from a received signal; an inverse minimum phase filter coefficient generator for generating inverse channel of a minimum phase channel from the estimated channel, and converting the inverse channel of the minimum phase channel into a time-domain filter coefficient; an inverse group delay filter coefficient generator for generating a time-domain filter coefficient by using the estimated channel and the minimum phase channel; and a combiner for generating an inverse channel of a receiving channel in a time domain by combining the filter coefficient and the filter coefficient.

The apparatus includes a carrier recovery means for compensating a carrier frequency error of a receiving signal; a timing recovery means for compensating a sampling timing error of the receiving signal; a carrier error reflecting means for reflecting the carrier frequency error extracted from the carrier recovery means to a transmitting signal; and a timing error reflecting means for reflecting the sampling timing error extracted from the timing recovery means to the transmitting signal. The present invention is used to form an on-channel repeating network in any transmission system including a digital television broadcasting system.

Provided is a method for securing cable modem (CM) following a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) against physical security attacks. The method includes the steps of: a) classifying information to be stored in the DOCSIS CM based on a requirement degree of confidentiality and anti-alteration; b) storing the information in a non-volatile memory of the DOCSIS CM when the information is absolute confidential information, but processing a mechanism for deleting the information stored in the non-volatile memory in case that attacks by a hacker is sensed; c) storing the information in the non-volatile memory of the DOCSIS CM when the information is middle-level security information; and d) storing the information in a write-once (WO) memory of the DOCSIS CM when the information is absolute anti-alteration information.
