Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enabling access control in a connected mode, idle mode, and an inactive state. An exemplary method generally includes receiving access control information associated with one or more services used by the UE for communicating with the wireless communications network, receiving a request to transmit traffic using the one or more services, checking a type of the traffic against the access control information, and scheduling the traffic for transmission if the type of the traffic satisfies one or more criteria in the access control information based on the checking.

The determination can occur in a variety of ways, such as based on a message from the drone-coupled UE itself (e.g., an express flying-state notification from the drone-coupled UE, a request particular to a flying state, a measurement reporting message, an identifier used by the drone-coupled UE, uplink signal strength measurement(s) or uplink AoA measurements, whether any intervening base station(s) were skipped over in conjunction with a handoff of the drone-coupled UE, etc.).

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive policy and charging control (PCC) rules that indicate that a multi-access (MA) protocol data unit (PDU) session is to be established with a redundant steering mode. The network entity may transmit N4 interface rules that indicate the redundant steering mode and parameters for the MA PDU session, such as an uplink duplication factor, a downlink duplication factor, an uplink redundant bitrate, a downlink redundant bitrate, or an access path to duplicate. The network entity may transmit access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) rules that indicate, for the MA PDU session, an indication to use the redundant steering mode and the parameters.
