    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to identifying, by a processor of a wireless communications device, a service, determining, by the processor and based at least in part on the service, whether to prioritize a type of connection gateway to utilize in connecting to the service, where the processor determines to prioritize the type of connection gateway, selecting, by the processor, a connection gateway for the service based at least in part on a stored network access preference for the service, where the processor determines not to prioritize the type of connection gateway, selecting, by the processor, the connection gateway for the service regardless of the stored network access preference for the service, and connecting, by the processor, to the service via the connection gateway.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for communicating data between a user-equipment and network entity. For example, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes receiving a message comprising a data packet from a user equipment (UE) during a communication session, and detecting whether the data packet is the last data packet for transmission or reception by the UE during the communication session. In certain aspects, the method also includes determining whether to process or discard the data packet based on the detection and whether a backoff timer is to be sent to the UE, and processing or discarding the data packet based on the determination.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques selecting a core network. As described herein, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of services provided by a first core network (CN). The UE may take action to reselect from the first CN to a second CN to access a set of services not provided by the first core network. When a UE desires services not available on a currently-connected CN, the UE may transmit an establishment request message requesting the services desired.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive policy and charging control (PCC) rules that indicate that a multi-access (MA) protocol data unit (PDU) session is to be established with a redundant steering mode. The network entity may transmit N4 interface rules that indicate the redundant steering mode and parameters for the MA PDU session, such as an uplink duplication factor, a downlink duplication factor, an uplink redundant bitrate, a downlink redundant bitrate, or an access path to duplicate. The network entity may transmit access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) rules that indicate, for the MA PDU session, an indication to use the redundant steering mode and the parameters.     Abstract: Aspects relate to core network entities that: establish a session including at least one of: application data unit (ADU) detection rules, or ADU handling rules related to a detection of ADUs in a user plane, and determine, for one or more quality of service (QOS) flows, whether ADU awareness applies based on an application of the ADU detection rules, or the ADU handling rules; and transmit a request to create a session that supports ADU-based QoS flows, negotiate at least one of: ADU-based QoS policies, or ADU QoS rules applicable to the session, and receive an acknowledgment of creation of the session in response to completing the negotiating. A radio access network entity conveys, during a session, one or more ADUs to a user equipment via a user plane in compliance with ADU-based QoS policies associated with at least one ADU aware QoS flow.
