    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which beamforming may be configured at a user equipment (UE) for narrowband communications. The UE may be a narrowband UE that may provide an indication to a base station that the UE is capable of performing beamforming communication for a unicast channel transmission. Such an indication may be provided in response to the UE receiving a non-beamformed broadcast channel transmission from the base station via a first carrier. The base station may receive the indication and configure the UE with a beamformed narrowband communications scheme. Such a beamformed formed narrowband communications scheme may be used for narrowband downlink shared channel communications, narrowband downlink control channel communications, or combinations thereof. In some cases, beamformed communications may be configured on a different carrier than the first carrier. The base station and UE may then communicate using beamformed transmissions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for allocating additional random access channel (RACH) resources. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access request to a base station. The base station may respond to the random access request with a random access response or other signaling that indicates additional RACH resources for a second random access request. The UE may select a resource from the additional RACH resources to transmit the second random access request. The network may also configure additional RACH resources for peak times and may indicate the additional RACH resources to the UE. The UE may select a resource from the additional RACH resources or baseline RACH resources and may use the selected resource to transmit a random access request.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback configuration for providing feedback for downlink communications from a base station. Based on the feedback configuration, the UE may determine whether one or more feedback processes has a multicast-only configuration for multicast data communications, or a multicast-or-unicast configuration for either multicast data communications or unicast data communications. The UE may decode one or more transmissions associated with the one or more feedback processes based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration, and may determine a feedback codebook based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration of the one or more feedback processes. The UE may monitor for retransmissions of one or more multicast data communications based on the feedback process configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine a transmission beam configuration for transmitting multicast data to a user equipment (UE) in a joint transmission using a set of transmission/reception points (TRPs) based on outcomes of listen before talk (LBT) procedures performed at the TRPs. In some examples, the base station may indicate to the UE that the UE is to determine a UE beam configuration and a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship associated with the TRPs for receiving the multicast data based on signaling from the TRPs. In some examples, the base station may transmit multicast data from a first TRP (e.g., a serving cell) during a first transmission opportunity (TxOP), and the UE may determine the QCL relationship for the set of TRPs. During a second TxOP, the base station may transmit multicast data in a joint transmission from the set of TRPs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receiving, from a base station, control signaling identifying a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration indicating resources for a first control channel and resources for a group-common downlink shared channel corresponding to the first control channel. The UE may receive, on resources for a second control channel, downlink control information including an indication for determining a feedback process identifier associated with the group-common downlink shared channel of the SPS configuration. The UE may monitor for signals on the group-common downlink shared channel of the SPS configuration based on the indicated feedback process identifier.

A user equipment (UE) may receive an acknowledgment feedback configuration for providing feedback for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) downlink shared channels (e.g., SPS group-common physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs), SPS unicast PDSCHs, etc.). For example, the acknowledgment feedback configuration may include separate resources for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for unicast downlink shared channels and for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for group-common downlink shared channels or may include common resources for transmitting acknowledgment feedback for both unicast downlink shared channels and group-common downlink shared channels. In some examples, the UE may multiplex acknowledgment feedback for a set of group-common downlink shared channels with additional acknowledgment feedback for other downlink channels.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for radio resource control (RRC) configuration for sounding reference signal (SRS) on additional SRS symbols in an uplink subframe. An example method performed by user equipment generally includes receiving, from the network, signaling indicating, for a set of uplink subframes, a first configuration for transmitting one or more SRS transmissions of a first type and a second configuration for transmitting one or more SRS transmission of a second type; and transmitting, within at least one uplink subframe of the set of uplink subframes, at least one of the one or more SRS transmissions of the first type or the one or more SRS transmissions of the second type based, at least in part, on at least one of the first configuration or the second configuration.
