Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) and a base station may operate in a network that supports full-duplex communications. The UE may receive downlink communication and transmit uplink communication simultaneously and, in some cases, the uplink communication may cause self-interference that may adversely affect the reception of the downlink communication. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of the time or frequency resources over which the uplink communication overlaps in time with the downlink communication and may select a decoding technique to use for decoding the downlink transmission based on the indication. The UE may also receive, from the base station, a rate-matching configuration or puncturing information associated with the downlink transmission, which the UE may additionally use in selecting the decoding technique.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may provide hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for multiple physical channels (e.g., multiple physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH)) scheduled via multi-component carrier. The UE may monitor control channel occasions (e.g., physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions), to receive wireless communications from a base station (e.g., a next-generation NodeBs (gNB)). For example, the UE may receive multiple downlink control information (DCI) messages that may schedule multiple PDSCH over different component carriers. The UE may identify one or multiple downlink assignment indices (DAI) in the received DCI messages. In some examples, the UE may generate one or more feedback bits of a HARQ feedback codebook (also referred to as an acknowledgement codebook). The one or more feedback bits include a same number of feedback bits for each downlink assignment index associated with each DCI message.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to reduce pilot overhead by providing common reference signals coded with cover codes that are orthogonal in time and frequency domains. Common reference signals that are coded by cover codes orthogonal in both domains can be de-spread in both the time and frequency domains for improved resolution and larger pull-in windows for both. Also disclosed is semi-uniform pilot spacing in both the frequency and time domains. In a time domain, a first pilot symbol pair is spaced by a first time interval from each other and a second pilot symbol pair is spaced by a second time interval from the first pair, the second interval being greater than the first. In a frequency domain, a first set of pilot symbols is densely placed in a selected frequency band and a second set of pilot symbols is sparsely placed surrounding and including the selected frequency band.

Abstract: Techniques and devices for wireless communications are described to support communication over multiple component carriers using configured resources. A base station may identify a resource configuration for one or more sets of configured resources for communication with a user equipment (UE) and may indicate the resource configuration to the UE. The base station may transmit a downlink control message to the UE that includes a field to indicate one or more sets of resources that are to be activated or deactivated. The UE may receive the downlink control message and, based on the downlink control message, may identify the one or more indicated sets of resources. The UE may determine, based on the downlink control message, whether the one or more sets of resources is activated or deactivated. The UE and the base station may communicate based on the one or more activated or deactivated sets of resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some cases, due to blind decoding and channel estimation (CE) limits, one or more user equipment (UE) specific search sets may be pruned for blind decoding and/or CE purposes. For instance, after hashing a set of common decoding candidates to control channel elements (CCEs) within the control region, the UE specific search sets may be pruned so as to conform to the blind decode limitation, since a common search space has already occupied a portion of the total blind decode limit. Following pruning, the UE may hash the sets of UE-specific decoding candidates associated with the one or more UE specific search sets to CCEs within the control region. The UE may further prune UE specific search sets, based on CE limits, while reusing CE for overlapping hashed locations.

A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling that configures a downlink bandwidth for a broadcast channel transmission (e.g., a physical downlink control channel transmission). The UE may determine a bandwidth of the capability is less than the downlink bandwidth, and monitor search space occasions in a period to receive samples of the broadcast channel. The period and the search space occasions may be associated with a control resource set and a search space set. The UE may receive the samples in non-overlapping subbands of the bandwidth according to the bandwidth capability, and detect the broadcast channel based on the samples. The UE may additionally monitor repeated transmission occasions in the period based on detecting the broadcast channel to detect a second broadcast channel (e.g., a physical downlink shared channel).
