Abstract:
A conversion server responsive to browsing requests issued by a browser unit operative in accordance with a first protocol is disclosed herein. The conversion server includes a retrieval module for retrieving web page information from a web site in accordance with a first browsing request issued by the browsing unit. The retrieved web page information is formatted in accordance with a second protocol different from the first protocol. A conversion module serves to convert at least a primary portion of the web page information into a primary file of converted information compliant with the first protocol. The conversion server also includes an interface module for providing said primary file of converted information to the browsing unit.
Abstract:
A method of forming a bioactive coating on a biomedical implant, the method including the step of contacting at least part of the surface of the implant prior to implantation with a plasma gas containing a reactive hydroxylating oxidant species. The step of contacting the surface of the implant prior to implantation with a plasma gas containing a reactive hydroxylating oxidant species may be preceded by a step of exposing the implant to an organosilane or organosilicate species to form a silica coating on at least part of the implant prior to contact with the oxidant species.
Abstract:
A speech-based method of searching for network content is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at a portable communication device, speech input containing a keyword. Data representative of the speech input is then sent by the portable communication device to a server. The method further includes receiving, at the portable communication device, information relating to a plurality of candidate results corresponding to the keyword. A list of selectable links through which network-based content associated with the plurality of candidate results may be accessed is then displayed through an interface of the portable communication device.
Abstract:
A method that includes determining a pending data packet count for one or more data packets associated with data to be forwarded from a node to another node on a communication link and then comparing the pending data packet count to a threshold data packet count value. The method further includes forwarding the one or more data packets to the other node at a rate based on the comparison.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and mechanism for debugging a series of related events within a computer system. According to an embodiment, when tracing a series of related events that span across a plurality of threads, a token may be passed from one thread to another, thereby allowing a link between the threads to be marked within the one or more traces. The token may be passed via a messaging API, such as a network layer API or a shared resource. With this aspect of the invention, sufficient information will be provided within the one or more traces to allow all the related trace data to be linked together.
Abstract:
A process for fixed bed sweetening of petroleum distillates using halogenating metal phthalocyanine as a catalyst comprising impregnating the catalyst on activated charcoal bed by circulating alcoholic alkaline solution of the catalyst through charcoal bed till colorless bed solution is obtained in the effluent, passing the petroleum distillate through the said catalyst loaded charcoal bed along with air or oxygen at a temperature and pressure with liquid hourly space velocity with continuous or intermittent injection of alkali solution such as sodium hydroxide of concentration to obtain the desired low mercaptan level petroleum distillates. The alkaline solution used is selected from methanolic and ethanolic solution of sodium hydroxide. The halogenated metal phthalocyanine catalyst used is selected from dichloro cobalt phthalocyanine and dibromo cobalt phthalocyanine. The petroleum fraction used is selected from diesel, kerosene and FCC gasoline.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a supported catalyst comprising a Halogenated Phthalocyanine of cobalt, iron or manganese of formula 1 which comprises: mixing a phthalocyanine of cobalt, iron or manganese with a halogenating agent in a stoichiometric ratio ranging between 1:1 to 1:20 optionally in an inert organic solvent, refluxing or heating and stirring for a time period ranging between 1-6 hrs, distilling the excess halogenating agent from the mixture, filtering and washing the residual mass by known method to obtain the desired halogenated phthalocyanine and impregnating a support material with the desired halogenated phthalocyanine.
