    摘要: A simple block coding arrangement is created with symbols transmitted over a plurality of transmit channels, in connection with coding that comprises only simple arithmetic operations, such as negation and conjugation. The diversity created by the transmitter utilizes space diversity and either time or frequency diversity. Space diversity is effected by redundantly transmitting over a plurality of antennas, time diversity is effected by redundantly transmitting at different times, and frequency diversity is effected by redundantly transmitting at different frequencies: Illustratively, using two transmit antennas and a single receive antenna, one of the disclosed embodiments provides the same diversity gain as the maximal-ratio receiver combining (MRRC) scheme with one transmit antenna and two receive antennas. The principles of this invention are applicable to arrangements with more than two antennas, and an illustrative embodiment is disclosed using the same space block code with two transmit and two receive antennas.

A baseband processing unit and other units transmit the control packet signal and then transmit the inquiry packet signals, and receive packet signals, containing inquiry results, from the plurality of respective terminal apparatuses.

    摘要: A method for communication includes receiving a Radio Frequency (RF) channel containing a desired signal conforming to a first air interface and an interfering signal conforming to a second air interface. A first receiver configured for the first air interface and a second receiver configured for the second air interface are synchronized to a common frequency and timing reference. While the first and second receivers are synchronized, the desired signal is decoded from the RF channel using the first receiver to generate a first output, the interfering signal is decoded from the RF channel using the second receiver to generate a second output, and the desired signal is reconstructed while suppressing the interfering signal by jointly processing the first and second outputs.

The transceiver implements a plurality of signal paths that can be configured as space diversity receive paths. Each of the plurality of signal paths includes a distinct RF filter. Each RF filter can be configured to provide a distinct frequency response, and in particular, a distinct jammer rejection profile. One of the RF filters can be configured to provide substantially no in-band jammer rejection. Each additional distinct RF filter can be configured to reject at least one distinct in-band jammer frequency or band of frequencies. A diversity receiver coherently combines the path performance diverse signals from each filter output. A transmitter can time division duplex transmit communications over at least a subset of the signal paths and their associated RF filters.

    摘要: This disclosure describes equalization techniques for spread spectrum wireless communication. The techniques may involve estimating a channel impulse response, estimating channel variance, and selecting filter coefficients for an equalizer based on the estimated channel impulse response and the estimated channel variance. Moreover, in accordance with this disclosure, the channel variance estimation involves estimation of two or more co-variances for different received samples. Importantly, the equalizer is “fractionally spaced,” which means that the equalizer defines fractional filtering coefficients (filter taps), unlike conventional equalizers that presume that filter coefficients are defined at integer chip spacing. The techniques can allow the equalizer to account for antenna diversity, such as receive diversity, transmit diversity, or possibly both.
