摘要: A block partitioner includes a quad splitter structured to partition a target block obtained by recursive partitioning in half in both a horizontal direction and a vertical direction to generate four blocks, and a binary/ternary splitter structured to partition the target block obtained by recursive partitioning into two or three in the horizontal direction or the vertical direction to generate two or three blocks, and the binary/ternary splitter disallows partitioning of the target block in the horizontal direction when partitioning of the target block in the horizontal direction causes the target block obtained by partitioning to be located beyond a right side of a picture boundary, and disallows partitioning of the target block in the vertical direction when partitioning of the target block in the vertical direction causes the target block obtained by partitioning to be located beyond a lower side of the picture boundary.

摘要: Video processing methods and apparatuses in a video encoding or decoding system for processing out-of-bounds nodes in a current picture. An out-of-bounds node is a coding tree node with a block region across a current picture boundary. The video processing method or apparatus determines an inferred splitting type, applies the inferred splitting type to split the out-of-bounds node into child blocks, adaptively splits each child block into one or multiple leaf blocks, and encodes or decodes the leaf blocks in the out-of-bounds node inside the current picture. The inferred splitting type for partitioning out-of-bounds nodes in an inter slice, picture, or tile is the same as the inferred splitting type for partitioning out-of-bounds nodes in an intra slice, picture, or tile.

摘要: Real-time pre-encoding dithering techniques mitigate or eliminate banding and other graphical artifacts in video frames prior to such video frames being encoded for transmission to and display by one or more client devices. For each of one or more input video frames, one or more random seeds and a frame identifier are received, and a dithering process is initiated for each of one or more pixels of the input video frame. The dithering process includes generating a YUV noise vector based on the random seeds and on the frame identifier, computing a YUV representation of the input pixel based on RGB color information for the input pixel, and generating a dithered output pixel by adding the generated YUV noise vector to the YUV representation of the input pixel.

摘要: A method of decoding coding blocks of a coding tree unit for an image frame, from a bitstream. The method comprises determining a chroma format of the image frame, the chroma format having chroma channels of the image frame being subsampled relative to a luma channel of the image frame; and determining, based on the determined chroma format, a size of a chroma coding block of one of the chroma channels of the coding tree unit, wherein the chroma coding block is collocated with a plurality of corresponding luma blocks. The method comprises determining the chroma coding block is encoded using intra prediction if the determined size of the chroma block is a predetermined minimum chroma block size; and decoding the coding blocks of the coding tree using intra prediction for the chroma coding block and inter prediction for at least one of the plurality of corresponding luma coding blocks.
