Abstract:
Disclosed is a learning data base building method which can achieve data update in an optimum memory size and simultaneously build a systematic data configuration. Moreover, a video apparatus having a learning function and learning function control method therefor which can provide systematic, simple and effective learning by using a learning data base. The learning data base building method includes the steps of arranging vocabulary data in order of frequency in use thereof, grouping the arranged vocabulary data classified by subjects, and producing index for reading in consecutive order the groups of the vocabulary data classified by subjects.
Abstract:
An image data storage/display apparatus and method for a television receiver having a viewer's screen display function whereby a desired image is stored, and the stored image is automatically displayed on the screen when no video signal is inputted or when the channel or the input terminal is changed. The image data storage/display apparatus includes a video input section for inputting a video signal, a first switch for being switched to a video input terminal or to the video input section, a data storage section for temporarily storing the video signal inputted from the first switch in a first memory, outputting the video signal stored in the first memory to display the video signal as an image when a still mode is set, and storing the video signal in a second memory when a signal for storing the displayed video signal is inputted, a second switch for switching the video signal inputted from the video input terminal or an output signal of the data storage section, a video processing section for processing the video signal from the second switch to output a processed signal to the CRT, a video detecting section for detecting whether or not the video signal is inputted through the video input terminal, and a microcomputer for controlling the data storage section so that the viewer can store and display an image on the screen when a corresponding key signal is inputted or when it is detected by the video detecting section that no video signal is inputted through the video input terminal.
Abstract:
An EEPROM automatic setting method and a function block control method for a TV are disclosed. The EEPROM automatic setting method includes comparing a data of the ID checking region of the EEPROM with an ID in the ROM of the television microcomputer, and storing the data in the ROM into the regions of the EEPROM when the data of the ID checking region and the ID in the ROM are not identical as a result of the comparison for thereby providing an EEPROM with a chassis ID information, automatically loading a data from a ROM of a TV microcomputer into the EEPROM in accordance with the ID of the EEPROM and operating the TV.
Abstract:
An improved game apparatus for a television and a control method thereof capable of playing a game using a remote controller and an OSD, which includes an operating unit for setting a certain mode and starting a game; an input/output controller for receiving the output signal of the operating unit; a game-exclusive ROM for outputting a game program in accordance with an output signal of the input/output controller; a game-exclusion RAM for storing a currently playing game state; an on-screen controller for outputting original color signals of an on-screen display so as to display a game state; a tuner for receiving a combined picture signal transferred from an antenna; a picture signal processing unit for receiving a combined picture signal outputted from the tuner and for outputting television picture original color signals; a first switch for outputting selectively outputting the original color signals of an on-screen display outputted from the on-screen controller and television picture original signals outputted from the picture processing unit in accordance with a control signal of a microprocessor, and a picture controller for displaying the original color signals outputted from the first switch on a screen of a television.
Abstract:
A method for forming an integrated circuit isolation layer includes the steps of forming a patterned masking layer of a semiconductor substrate, forming an oxygen diffusing layer on the patterned masking layer and the exposed portion of the semiconductor substrate, and forming an isolation layer on the exposed portion of the substrate. In particular, the oxygen diffusing layer can be a layer of SiON, and the oxygen diffusing layer can have a thickness in the range of 30 .ANG. to 150 .ANG.. The oxygen diffusing layer and the mask layer can then be removed completing the isolation layer.
