Abstract:
A deaeration valve useful in a pressurized fluid system for reducing the transfer of air from a sump to the principal reservoir of the system is disclosed. The valve comprises a body including a bore longitudinally therethrough and a poppet-type spool slidably disposed in the bore. An orifice is axially-disposed in the end of the valve spool which is adapted to fit in the seat end of the bore. Air escapes through the orifice when an inadequate amount of fluid pressure is exerted against the orifice end of the spool to force the spool significantly away from the seat. When the spool is forced significantly away from the seat, fluid flow proceeds through a hole which communicates with the bore adjacent the seat. The spool is biased by a spring or the like against the seat, so that the pressure due to the fluid must build up to a significant value before the spool will be forced away from the seat and the hole will be open to fluid flow. Means are provided for venting air from the primary reservoir of the system into the bore of the valve through a passageway in the spool and therefrom into a secondary sump.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an auxiliary root-torquing wire for use with a main dental arch wire for applying torque to the root structure of a group of teeth. More particular, this invention is an anterior root-torquing auxiliary wire detailed to move the roots of the maxillary or mandibular anterior teeth either lingually or labially. The auxiliary root-torquing wire includes an integrally formed wire having a generally circular configuration and including a series of radially projecting substantially U-shaped bent portions. The radially extending Ushaped bent portions are detailed to be substantially coplanar relative to each other and the ends of the integrally formed wire includes hooked end portions detailed for engagement with a main dental arch wire. The present invention also includes the method of applying the auxiliary root-torquing wire to a main dental arch wire by hooking a first end of the auxiliary torquing wire to the main dental arch wire adjacent to one end, inserting a first one of the U-shaped bent portions behind the main dental arch wire between adjacent teeth in an interdental space, progressively inserting each of the other U-shaped bent portions behind the main dental arch wire between still other adjacent teeth interdental spaces, and hooking the second end of the auxiliary torquing wire adjacent to a second end of the main dental arch wire.
Abstract:
The bicycle with security features includes a frame, a cable lock, a pedal lock, a motion alarm, a GPS tracker, a solar cell array, a smart phone interface, a battery, and a battery charger. The frame may house anti-theft and rider safety features. The cable lock and the pedal lock may prevent a bicycle from being moved by thieves. The motion alarm may produce an alert if the bicycle is disturbed. The GPS tracker may determine and report the location of the bicycle. The anti-theft and rider safety features may be controlled from a smart phone.
Abstract:
A device and method for making puzzle tags are disclosed. The device is a kiosk that utilizes a cutting instrument to cut tag plates, based on cutting pattern selection input provided by a customer, into a series of pieces that form a first puzzle tag. The device and method disclosed herein may also facilitate the production and distribution of a second puzzle tag that is the inverse image of the first puzzle tag and formed from the materials leftover from construction of the first puzzle tag.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method and system for providing copyright protection for blog posts prior to publication from within a running blog-publishing software application by automatically assembling and electronically submitting a copyright application for the blog post to the United States Copyright Office through the use of a portable application programming interface, which may be utilized by third-party blog-publishing applications, and then automatically publishing the blog post through the blog-publishing application once submission of the electronic copyright application for the blog post is confirmed. Additionally disclosed is a method and system of registering a blog post in order to memorialize the creation of the blog post from within a running blog-publishing application through the use of a portable application programming interface, which may be utilized by third-party blog-publishing applications, and then automatically publishing the blog post through the blog-publishing application once registration of the blog post is confirmed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for selectively transcribing messages. Five general approaches are disclosed herein. The first approach is directed to checking for a transcription capable client, which transcribes messages when a client device is capable of receiving transcriptions. The second and third approaches are platform-controlled and user-controlled predefined selective transcription. One aspect of this approach is driven by transcription rules. The fourth approach is user-controlled on-demand selective transcription before the message is stored or deposited for transcription. An example of this is a user transferring an incoming caller to voicemail and indicating that the voicemail be transcribed. The fifth approach is user-controlled on-demand selective transcription after the message is stored. In one embodiment of this approach, a user must specifically request that a stored message be transcribed.
Abstract:
An example method includes performing a telephone number database query at a call session control function server to obtain a first uniform resource identifier for a destination and to obtain a second uniform resource identifier for the destination, establishing a first communication session to the destination based on the first uniform resource identifier, and initiating a second communication session on behalf of a calling device to the destination based on the second uniform resource identifier, the destination to provide content associated with the first communication session via the second communication session.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present disclosure is a method and apparatus for dynamically controlling Internet Protocol packet flows in a Voice over Internet Protocol network. In one embodiment, a method for controlling flows of packets in a network includes obtaining a list identifying at least one user element that is authorized to register with the network and dynamically configuring a manner in which at least one border element handles the packets in accordance with the list.
