Abstract: A method for processing a video includes determining characteristics regarding a current video block; determining an operational state regarding unsymmetrical quad-tree (UQT) splitting based on the determination of the characteristics, wherein the operational state indicates that whether the UQT splitting is enabled or disabled and/or indicates how to split the current video block into four partitions using the UQT splitting; and performing a conversion between the current video block and a bitstream representation of the current video block based on the operational state of UQT splitting.

An example method for video processing includes performing a conversion between a video region of a video and a bitstream representation of the video, wherein the bitstream representation selectively includes motion vector difference (MVD) related syntax elements for an intra block copy (IBC) advanced motion vector prediction (AMVP) mode based on a maximum number of a first type of IBC candidates used during the conversion of the video region, wherein, when an IBC mode is applied, samples of the video region are predicted from other samples in a video picture corresponding to the video region.

The rule specifies that a first size of the prediction block is determined responsive to whether a prediction refinement using optical flow technique is used for coding the video block. The video block has a second size and is coded using an affine merge mode or an affine advanced motion vector prediction mode.

Abstract: A method of visual media processing includes determining a size of a buffer to store reference samples for prediction in an intra block copy mode; and performing a conversion between a current video block of visual media data and a bitstream of the current video block, using the reference samples stored in the buffer, wherein the conversion is performed in the intra block copy mode which is based on motion information related to a reconstructed block located in same video region with the current video block without referring to a reference picture.
