Abstract:
The subject invention features diagnostic circuitry installed on one or more chips of a board. This diagnostic circuitry is constructed so that during a diagnostic interval it generates a diagnostic output signal if and only if it is supplied with normal voltages on service supply structures (such as ground, B+ supply, clock) distributing service voltages to devices on the board. The diagnostic output is connected to a diagnostic output pin of the chip which may also serve as one of the operating pins of the chip (such as a signal input pin). The receptacle for the diagnostic pin is connected on the board to a diagnostic interface at the periphery of the board.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a coaxial diffuser optical fiber wave guide incident radiation energy concentrator using internal diffusion to scatter incident radiation energy into guided modes to effect a cumulative propagation of the energy along the wave guide axis which creates a concentration of the incident radiation energy at the collector's edges.
Abstract:
Laser systems in which efficiency and high repetition rate operation are obtained utilize an active laser medium consisting of pentaphosphate with high concentration doping of a rare earth such as neodymium and a pumping means in optical contact with the active medium which produces pump radiation confined to a band which essentially overlaps the absorption band of the laser medium. An active mirror configuration is described with thin layer of pentaphosphate active medium on one side of a substrate which is transmissive to the pump radiation. The pump radiation is provided by an excimer laser or by a semiconductor converter layer which is excited by flash lamps. The laser medium may be segmented with the space between segments occupied by material absorptive of amplified spontaneous emission wavelengths. The laser system is especially useful in laser fusion systems.
Abstract:
A sluice gate assembly has a resilient seal member mounted on the gate disc for movement therewith relative to a stationary frame. The frame has seat facings against which seat facings on the gate disc are urged when the gate disc is seated in the closed position. The resilient seal member is normally spaced from the frame and its seat facings when the gate disc is in other than the seated closed position. As the gate disc is seated in the closed position, a wedge-actuated seal retainer exerts a force on the resilient seal member to deform it against the frame seat facings.

Systems, methods, and other embodiments for a new compact narrowband diode-pumped solid-state laser device enabled by Volume Bragg Grating (VBG) technology and capable of operating at the watt or higher output power level. This laser is stable, operates in a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) output mode, and with a single-narrowband (

A taut-band resonant scanner is disclosed that includes an elongated band and a sub-assembly. The elongated band has a length in an elongated direction, a width in a width direction that is orthogonal to the elongated direction, and a thickness in a thickness direction that is orthogonal to both the width direction and the elongated direction, wherein the thickness is substantially smaller than the width and wherein the width direction and elongated direction define a band width/length plane. The sub-assembly is attached to a portion of the band, and includes at least one mounting structure.
Abstract:
A method and system of surface analysis or product design comprising using a plurality of input scans, commonly orienting the scans, establishing a common origin, creating a ray mesh having a plurality of rays extending from the origin, calculating intersections of the rays with the input scans, analyzing the intersection along each ray, generating percentile envelopes by connecting similar percentile points on each ray, and designing products using percentile envelopes as a guide. The system may comprise a device for scanning surfaces, a fit plan setting forth predetermined guidelines for the product, a coordinate transformation algorithm, an envelope processor comprising an intersection calculation algorithm for analyzing data sets and generating output surfaces, and an output file.

Abstract:
Described is a system and method by which text elements to be rendered on a computer display (e.g., paragraph, line or any subset of text including a character or glyph) may be individually or collectively animated, at an author-selected level of granularity. Animation of text may be specified by setting animation properties via direct coding (e.g., in markup) or by specifying animation code to execute on text-related data, just prior to rendering. The text to animate may be static, or dynamically obtained at runtime from an external source. The text to animate is maintained as a whole with other text of the same element, in a text object, until a processing level that produces separate glyph runs, with an animation transform associated with each glyph run to be animated. Also described is an API that supports text animation.
Abstract:
Intraocular devices for use in and attached to the natural lens capsule of an eye are provided. The lens capsule may be maintained in a configuration to avoid post-operative changes that are deleterious to vision. Single or dual optic systems are provided, which may be accommodating. Combinations of devices to obtain dual optic systems are disclosed.
