    摘要: An optical recording medium for accurately deriving the address information or the disc rotation control information despite narrow track pitch and for recording signals to a high density, and a method and apparatus for recording and/or reproducing such optical recording medium. The optical recording medium has a wobbled groove and pits formed at a pre-set interval in an area between turns of the wobbled groove. The recording/reproducing method includes controlling rotation of the optical recording medium by a wobbled signal from the groove and detecting the position on the optical recording medium of a recording signal by pit signals detected from the pits. The recording/reproducing apparatus includes a detection device for detecting the wobbled signal from the groove and a detection device for detecting pit signals from the pits. The rotation of the optical recording medium is controlled by the wobbled signals detected from the groove and the position on the optical recording medium of the recording signal is detected by the pit signal detected from the pits.

    摘要: A clock signal generating system of the present invention is provided for recording information on a disc. The disc has a plurality of recording tracks wobbled by a wobble signal having a predetermined frequency and a plurality of prepits disposed at positions having a predetermined phase relation with respect to a phase of the wobble signal. A clock signal is generated based on the wobble signal. A prepit signal is produced from the prepit. The phase of the wobble signal is compared with a phase of the prepit signal, thereby generating a phase adjusting signal. The phase of the clock signal is adjusted based on the phase adjusting signal. A recording clock signal for recording the information is produced by an adjusted clock signal.

    摘要: An apparatus for recording first information onto a recording medium, successively to second information that has been already recorded on the recording medium is provided. The first and second information are divided into a plurality of blocks. Each block includes a synchronization signal. This signal is located at a predetermined position in each block. A plurality of pre-pits are pre-formed on the recording medium at intervals of the predetermined length or an integer times the predetermined length. A reference signal with a predetermined frequency is pre-recorded on the recording medium. The apparatus has: a write clock signal generating device for generating a write clock signal on the basis of the reference signal; a pre-pit detecting device for detecting the pre-pits and outputting a pre-pit signal at a first timing, which is equal to a timing that each pre-pit is detected; a synchronization signal generating device for generating the synchronization signal and outputting the synchronization signal at a second timing synchronized with the write clock signal, and which is set so as to place the synchronization signal at the predetermined position in each block; a time relationship detecting device for detecting a time relationship between the pre-pit signal and the synchronization signal; a shifting device for shifting a phase of the write clock signal so as to make the detected time relationship equal to a predetermined time relationship; and a recording device for recording the first information and the synchronization signal onto the recording medium in accordance with the second timing.
