A magnetic recording transfer method for use with the combination of a mother magnetic recording medium and a copy magnetic recording medium of a metal-deposited thin film type each. The two media are overlaid so that the column inclination of one medium will be opposite in direction to that of the other medium. This method comprises the step of externally applying a biased magnetic field to the combination of the media in such a manner that magnetized recordings on the mother medium will be transferred to the copy medium. The easy axis of the mother medium is positioned at an angle of 20.degree..+-.15.degree. with respect to the in-plane direction of the medium. The biased magnetic field is applied to the mother medium at an angle of 110.degree..+-.15.degree. with respect to the in-plane direction of the medium. This makes it possible to enhance the efficiency in transferring magnetic recording of the mother medium, especially the recordings of short wave lengths, and to minimize demagnetization of the mother medium. Furthermore, the ratio of the coercive force H.sub.CM of the mother medium to the coercive force H.sub.CC of the copy medium (H.sub. CM /H.sub.CC) is set to at most 1.5. This improves the magnetic recording transfer output of the copy medium and boosts the efficiency in the magnetic transfer of short wave magnetic recordings.

A hologram scale having a base substrate, a hologram film with a diffraction grating of a desired pitch exposed thereon, adhered to the base substrate, and with a protective substrate to protect the hologram film is manufactured by the following method: a hologram of a laser produced diffraction grating is formed on a holographic film to act as a scale. This film is applied on a central portion of a base substrate. Adhesives having moisture resistance are applied between the base and the protective substrates to essentially surround the hologram film positioned on the base substrate. The protective and the base substrates are sealed integrally by the adhesives, securing the hologram film therein so as to protect it from ambient environmental conditions.

A heat-resistant aluminum alloy for electrical use, having high heat resistance and conductivity, obtained by subjecting an Al-Zr alloy comprising 0.23-0.35% Zr, the balance consisting of ordinary impurities and aluminum, to melting, casting, hot rolling in the state of high temperature or continuous heating, cold working to a predetermined size, ageing at a temperature within the range of 310.degree. C.-390.degree. C. for 50-400 hours so that Al.sub.3 Zr is dispersed uniformly and in fine particles, and, optionally, further cold working to a degree not exceeding 30% of reduction of area. The resultant aluminum alloy has conductivity in excess of 58% IACS, same strength as 1350 aluminum wire, and 10% softening temperature higher than 400.degree. C. at one hour annealing.

The use of slits makes formation of curved surfaces easy. Since there is no need to reinforce the outside to maintain the strength thereof, the board panel can be removed easily. Even if an external pressure is applied to the board panel, the flexibility of the hard material divided by the slits and the elastic characteristic of the soft material cause the pressure to be dispersed and absorbed, and sound to be absorbed.
