Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for conditionally skipping monitoring of downlink control channel in random access. A first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, a command indicating the first apparatus to skip monitoring a downlink control channel between the second apparatus and the first apparatus for a time period. The first apparatus initiates an RA procedure towards the second apparatus. The time period at least partially overlaps with a time window associated with the RA procedure and an end of the time period is after an end of the time window. The first apparatus determines whether the RA procedure is successfully completed or contention resolution for the RA procedure is successful. Based on the determination, the first apparatus ignores or performs the command after the end of the time window.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a first cell activation when the cell discontinuous transmission (DTX)/discontinuous reception (DRX) is applied. In particular, a network device transmits a configuration of cell DTX and/or a configuration of cell DRX for a first cell to a terminal device. The network device also transmits an activation indication for the first cell. The terminal device monitors a set of reference signals from the network device during an activation procedure of the first cell. The terminal device further transmits a report that is based on a measurement on the set of reference signals to a cell that is a special cell or a physical uplink control channel cell. In this way, it can reduce the latency of the activation of the first cell.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable storage medium for controlling DCCH based non-Small Data Transmission (SDT) data arrival. In some example embodiments, a terminal device transmits an indication an availability of non-Small Data Transmission (SDT) data to a network device during a SDT procedure. The terminal device monitors for a response to the indication, and performs an action comprising in response to absence of the response to the indication of the non-SDT data. The action comprises: entering an idle or inactive state and/or initiating a connection setup or resume request to the network device.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for handling expiry of at least one time alignment timer (TAT) of multiple timing advance groups (TAGs) associated with a serving cell. In an example method, the terminal device receives determines at least two TAGs for a serving cell, wherein the at least two TAGs comprise a primary TAG and a secondary TAG. The terminal device determines whether at least one TAT of the at least two TAGs has expired and maintain, based on determining that the at least one TAT has expired, one of the primary TAG and the secondary TAG. In this way, only a single TAG is maintained once the terminal device has single TAT/no TAT running removing ambiguities in RA procedure/UL signal transmissions. Since the network is aware of the TAT expiry, it knows behaviour of the terminal device and can act accordingly.

Abstract: The present discloses a device, method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium of scheduling request (SR) and random access (RA) triggering for small data transmission (SDT). In example embodiments, a terminal device receives, from a network device, a configuration of one or more configured grant (CG) resources for a SDT procedure and a list of one or more data radio bearers (DRBs) associated with respective logical channels (LCHs) allowed for SDT over at least one of the one or more CG resources. After the terminal device initiates the SDT procedure in an inactive mode, if the terminal determines that a buffer status report (BSR) is triggered, the terminal device determines whether a configuration of a SR mask is to be applied for a LCH configured for SDT.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices. methods. apparatuses and computer-readable storage medium for resources usage optimization. In some example embodiments. from a first device. a second device receives a first set of indications of the first pool of resources for a first communication feature and a second set of indications of the second pool of resources for a second communication feature. The first set of indications is partially overlapping with the second set of indications when the first pool of resources is partially overlapping with the second pool of resources. The second device determines a random access resource based at least on a communication feature to be performed by the second device and the received first and second set of indications. The communication feature comprises at least one of the first communication feature and the second communication feature. The second device performs a random access using the determined random access resource.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to bandwidth part selections of random access procedure. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device receives configuration information from a network device. The configuration information indicates a set of BWPs and configurations of the set of BWPs. When a random access procedure is triggered for a certain feature combination, the terminal device determines whether a condition for switching to a target BWP is fulfilled. If the condition is fulfilled, the terminal device switches to the target BWP. In this way, it improves resource efficiency.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable storage medium for monitoring of a Paging Early Indication (PEI). In some example embodiments, there is provided a method implemented in a terminal device. In the method, the terminal device receives a first indication of a total number of subgroups of terminal devices from a network device. In accordance with a determination that a first value of the first indication equals to a reference value in a first set of reference values or the first indication is absent, the terminal device determined whether a Paging Early Indication (PEI) for a Paging Occasion (PO) is to be detected by the terminal device based on one or more predefined conditions.
