摘要: This liquid crystal display device (100) includes a pixel defined by a plurality of subpixels that includes red, green, blue and yellow subpixels (R, G, B, Ye). As long as the sum of respective luminances of all of the subpixels but the blue subpixel (B) falls within the range of 0% to 50% while the color displayed by the pixel is changing from the color blue in which the blue subpixel (B) is at the highest grayscale level and the other subpixels are at the lowest grayscale level into the color white in which all of those subpixels are at the highest grayscale level substantially without changing its hue, the yellow subpixel (Ye) starts to increase its grayscale level at a different timing, and/or has its grayscale level increased at a different ratio with respect to an increase in the pixel's luminance, from the red and green subpixels (R, G) do.

摘要: Viewing angle characteristics on the entire display surface are improved while suppressing harmful effects such as flicker and banding caused by viewing angle improvement control. A liquid crystal display apparatus (1) includes: a liquid crystal panel (11) which includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix; a drive control unit (24) which performs viewing angle improvement processing by converting a gradation of a video signal input to the pixel; and a processing object determination unit (22) which determines whether or not an image displayed on each of the pixels of the liquid crystal panel (11) is an image having an intermediate color. The drive control unit (24) is configured to perform the viewing angle improvement processing on the pixel determined by the processing object determination unit (22) such that the pixel displays the image having the intermediate color.

摘要: A liquid crystal compound having a good durability against light, a polymerizable liquid crystal composition and an optically anisotropic material are provided. Further, an optical element having a good durability against light and an optical information writing/reading device employing such an element are provided. The liquid crystal compound is represented by a general formula CH2═CR1—COO-(L)k-E1-E2-(E3)m-R2. E1 is preferably a trans-2,6-decahydronaphthalene group and E2 is preferably a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group. A phase difference plate 4 produced by employing the compound has a good durability against light, and accordingly, it is possible to achieve an optical head device employing a blue laser as a light source 1 and being suitable for large capacity writing/reading.

摘要: A resonant element that causes a signal input from an input terminal to resonate at a predetermined resonance frequency and outputs it to an output terminal is provided. The element has a transmission line series including a plurality of transmission lines connected in series with each other and intersecting with a hotline connecting the input terminal and the output terminal and a plurality of switches. At least one of one end and the other end of the transmission line series is a grounded end. The resonant element having first and second end side, each end side having a first transmission line and a second transmission line connected to a switch having a grounded end. The resonance frequency is switched by turning on/off the switch to change the sum of the lengths of the transmission lines through which the signal passes.

摘要: The weight balance of an electric motorcycle including a battery, a power drive unit, and a driving power generating motor, in the left-and-right direction or in the frontward-and-rearward direction is easily secured. An electric motorcycle includes a power drive unit and a driving power generating motor which are mounted to a swing arm swinging about a pivot shaft in an upward-and-downward direction. A rear wheel WR is driven by the power generating motor. The electric motorcycle includes a battery to supply electric power to the power generating motor. A center of gravity (BC) of the battery is located at the side opposite to the power drive unit and the power generating motor about a central line CX of a motorcycle body.
