摘要: A reduced-pressure medical treatment system for treating a tissue site on a patient includes a medical drape that has an holographically-formed polymer dispersed liquid crystal (H-PDLC) device that changes visual appearance when experiencing strain. The change in visual appearance of the H-PDLC device allows identification of the existence of strain and may allow a quantitative assessment of the range of stress involved. In other aspects, a dressing conduit connector, canister, and reduced-pressure interface use a holographically-formed polymer dispersed liquid crystal (H-PDLC) device to help determine the existence and perhaps the amount of stress experienced. Other systems, methods, and devices are presented.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for moving fluids from a patient to a canister and lowering or eliminating the bio-burden of the canister. In one instance, a method for removing fluids from a patient includes using reduced pressure to remove fluids from a patient, delivering the fluids into a reduced-pressure conduit and into a fluid reservoir, exposing the fluids removed from the patient to a UV light source to kill pathogens to create disposable fluids, and disposing of the disposable fluids. Other systems, devices, and methods are presented.

摘要: A wound treatment system comprises a wound-treatment apparatus and a wound dressing coupled to the apparatus. The wound dressing includes a foam structure wound insert having pores with a greater cross-sectional area when viewed from a first direction and a smaller cross-sectional area when viewed from an orthogonal direction. Methods for making such wound inserts may include compressing foam structure material having pores with a substantially uniform cross-sectional area. Methods for treating a wound using a wound insert.
