Abstract:
Apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed for utility locating with tracking of movement over the ground or other surfaces using a dodecahedral antenna array and a stereo-optical ground tracker having two or more spaced apart cameras and an associated processing element to detect ground features in images from the cameras and determine tracking parameters based on the position of the detected ground features.
Abstract:
Camera heads for use in pipe inspection systems are disclosed. In one embodiment a camera head includes a body; an image sensor disposed in the body for generating images of an interior of a pipe or cavity in which the camera head is inserted, and processing circuitry operatively coupled to the image sensor to automatically capture images or video frames by the camera head within the object.
Abstract:
Pipe inspection and pressurized fluid cleaning systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed. A jetter push-cable device may include a high-pressure hydraulic hose core with a helical surround of small-diameter flexible rods and/or conductors, wrapped in such a way as to provide a cable of low bend-radius for use in small-diameter pipe inspections and cleaning. Conductors may be included in the push-cable. End-effectors, such as jetter nozzles and cutters may be coupled to the push-cable. An annular camera assembly, which may include lighting elements, may be further included in the push-cable device.
Abstract:
Camera head apparatus, systems, and methods for providing wide angle/panoramic images and/or video of the interior of pipes or other cavities using multiple imaging and illumination modules are disclosed.
Abstract:
Buried object locators including various antenna configurations and safety features are disclosed. In one embodiment a locator includes a body, one or more antenna nodes coupled to the body, and a safety light assembly disposed on or within the body. The locator may further include a surface light assembly and camera and/or one or more GPS and/or ISM antennas and receiver/sensor modules. The antenna nodes may be gradient and/or dodecahedral antenna nodes.
Abstract:
Coaxial video push-cables having increased durability and strength, for high frequency electrical power transmission as well as data signal communication between a camera head and a display or control device in a video inspection system, are disclosed.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for mapping pipes under inspection includes receiving, at a locator, magnetic field signals from a sonde deployed in a pipe or cavity, generating, in the locator, positional information associated with the pipe or cavity from the received sonde signals, and storing the positional information in a non-transitory memory of the locator. Depth information may be further determined for the pipe or cavity and the positional and/or depth information may be provided on a display device of the locator as an overlaid map display.
Abstract:
Integrated buried utility locator systems, including a locator including a marker device excitation transmitter a buried utility locator along with one or more marker devices, are disclosed. In operation a marker device excitation signal is sent from the locator at least partially simultaneously to receiving and processing a buried utility signal.
Abstract:
A pipe inspection system may include a cable storage drum and a length of resilient flexible push-cable. An asymmetric bearing device supports the cable storage drum for rotation about the rotational axis in a pay-out direction and an opposite pay-in direction. In one embodiment, the asymmetric bearing device automatically decreases, without the for manual adjustment, an amount of friction exerted against rotation of the cable storage drum upon reversal of the direction of rotation of the cable storage drum from the pay-out direction to the pay-in direction.
