    摘要: A variable-stiffness actuator is to be installed into a flexible member and provide different degrees of stiffness to the flexible member. The actuator includes two hard members located apart from each other, and a shape-memory member connecting the hard members. The shape-memory member has a property of transitioning in phase between a first phase and a second phase. The shape-memory member is in a low stiffness state when in the first phase, and is in a high stiffness state when in the second phase. The actuator also includes a inducing member configured to cause a portion of the shape-memory member between the hard members to transition in phase between the first and second phases, and a urging member configured to urge the hard members in directions away from each other.

    摘要: A system for transmitting power from a drive shaft to a seed meter shaft of a seeder is disclosed. The system comprises a first transmission that connects to one of the drive shaft and the seed meter shaft. The first transmission also connects to a clutch assembly. The clutch assembly connects to a flexible drive shaft assembly, and the flexible drive shaft assembly connects to a second transmission. The second transmission connects to the other of the drive shaft and the seed meter shaft. The clutch assembly is detachable from the first transmission and the flexible drive shaft assembly and the flexible drive shaft assembly is directly connectable to the first transmission.

    摘要: A fan clutch assembly includes several features. A first feature relates to a lubrication passage that runs through the clutch package and has a return collection passage that extends through the operating piston. As a result, pitot tubes employed behind the piston may not be necessitated. Additionally, an anti-tamper device may be installed on the lead screw body to prevent adjustment of the fan hub and unintentional adjustment of the load carried on various bearings contained within the fan clutch assembly. Additionally, to position the speed sensor appropriately, a transfer shaft is provided that extends from the fan hub and/or lead screw back to the backside where a sensor is provided. This transfer shaft can be adjusted to precisely locate the sensor target relative to the sensor.

    摘要: A remote alignment system and a remote alignment tool for aligning a plurality of remotely operated tools are disclosed. In an embodiment, the alignment tool includes at least two sleeves. An exterior surface of each of the at least two sleeves is affixed to an exterior surface of an adjacent sleeve of the at least two sleeves. A tool retainer is disposed on an inner surface of each of the at least two sleeves for selectively retaining at least an axial position of a remote tool relative to the sleeve.
