Abstract:
A color coded elastomeric ring is fit onto a dental instrument. The elastomeric ring includes axial and circumferential formations for increased traction of a dental practitioner's finger to manipulate the instrument. Advantageously, two elastomeric rings are provided, one at each end of the instrument. Each elastomeric ring preferably has an outside profile with a decreasing diameter toward the adjacent end of the instrument. The ring is located adjacent to a receiving port for a tool insert or point.
Abstract:
A set of endodontic cutting instruments, each having handles and each having a different working tip diameter incrementally increasing in size from one instrument to the next. The set includes a first smaller standard size endodontic cutting instrument having a grasping end with a first color according to a standard color code, a second larger standard size endodontic cutting instrument having a grasping end with a second color according to the standard color code and a non-standard intermediate size endodontic instrument having a size between the first smaller standard size and the second larger standard size and having a grasping end with a color combination including a first portion having the first standard color corresponding to the first smaller standard size and a second portion having the second standard color corresponding to the second larger standard size. Nonstandard taper portions on the cutting instruments are provided to smooth stair step root canal cavities. The non-standard taper portions are identified by non-ISO color portions on the handles.

Abstract:
The present invention provides Dental implant configured to be inserted into a hole in jaw bone and to be at least partially situated in bone tissue when implanted, comprising: a coronal implant region, the surface of which is at least partly covered by an oxide layer with an average thickness in the range from 60 nm to 170 nm and has an average arithmetical mean height Sa in the range from 0.1 μm to 1.0 μm. Further provided is a component for dental applications, preferably dental abutment, wherein the surface of the component is at least partly covered by an oxide layer with an average thickness in the range from 60 nm to 170 nm and has an average arithmetical mean height Sa in the range from 0.05 μm to 0.5 μm and an implant system comprising the dental implant and the component. Method for forming a protective layer on the surface of an implantable or implant component, the method comprising a) applying a solution on the surface of component, the solution having a pH at 25° C. of 6.8 or less and b) drying the solution applied in step a) to form a protective layer on the surface of the component for dental applications. Finally, part of the present invention is an implantable or implant component having a protective layer obtainable as above and a use of such layer for storage.
Abstract:
An aligner for use in the treatment of malocclusions/misalignments by using force measurement of the aligner on the teeth. The aligner has at least two referencing features located on it in the initial state. The referencing features are of such a size, about or at least 10 micrometers, that they can be accurately detected by a camera or other means. The referencing features are of an optical or topographic kind.
Abstract:
A dental blank, having an upper surface and a lower surface, constructed of a flesh-coloured material and a tooth-coloured material. The flesh-coloured material and the tooth-coloured material are bonded together. The interface between the materials with elevations and depressions formed in or at the interface extends through an optionally curved plane, which plane is parallel to or oblique to at least part of the surfaces of the blank.
Abstract:
A method that includes the step of using a person's fingers to push a dental composition into engagement with a damaged tooth surface of a damaged tooth thereby adhering the dental composition to the damaged tooth surface and covering at least a portion of the damaged tooth surface. The dental composition includes a base material comprising at least one of the following compounds chosen from the group consisting of: a product consisting of one or more hydrocarbon-based waxes that may also include inorganic fillers and/or organic fillers; an uncured, uncrosslinked silicone high consistency rubber base; and a hydrophobic water insoluble solid material. The base material has a coating composition on one or more surface of the base material wherein the coating composition comprises: one or more desensitization ingredient and at least one dry, powdered hydrophilic polymeric substance.

Abstract:
Orthodontic devices and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an orthodontic device comprises a marking region configured to facilitate the design, manufacturing, production, distribution, installation, and/or use of the device. The marking region can comprise indicia configured to communicate information regarding the device, an associated patient, an instruction for installation of the device, etc. The indicia can comprise a recess or opening in the device, a raised or protruding portion of the device, and/or material that has been added to the device. In various embodiments, the indicia include, for example, letters, numbers, symbols, colors, shapes, and/or patterns that directly provide and/or encode the information of interest. The indicia can be human-readable and/or machine-readable.
