    Abstract: An improved collet crimping head used with an existing single lane capping apparatus and collet chuck for gripping, installing and crimping pharmaceutical over-caps and the like during the automated high-volume filling and capping process.     Abstract: A bit attaching arrangement for a power tool has a collet nut threadably engaging a rotatably driven shaft of the power tool. The collet nut has a plurality of slots positioned on an outer peripheral surface. A first gear is disposed on the shaft so that rotation of the first gear causes rotation of the shaft. An actuating member having a second gear associated therewith is attached to the housing of the power tool. The actuating member also has a slot-engaging extension associated therewith. The actuating member is positionable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the second gear engages the first gear and the extension engages one of the slots of the collet nut such that rotation of the actuating member results in rotation of the shaft while maintaining the collet nut at a generally fixed rotational location. In a second position, the first and second gears do not engage one another and the extension does not engage any of the slots of the collet nut such that the shaft can be freely rotated during operation of the power tool.

    Abstract: A tool holder which uses a collet for holding a stationary tool on a turret of a turret lathe. The turret being of the type having a plurality of flat surfaces adapted for receiving a tool holder. The tool holder includes a body with a flat surface adapted for mounting against at least one of the flat surfaces of the turret, and a fixed aperture of a fixed size having an axis, a first end centered on the axis and a second end centered on the axis and a constriction starting near the first end and gradually reducing the size of the aperture in the direction of the second end. At least two locations for fixedly mounting the body against the turret are positioned next to the aperture, and allow for mounting of the body against the turret in a fixed position. Structure which allows the introduction of an axial load on the collet, the axial load being in the direction of the axis of the aperture, and which cooperates with the body, so that the axial load radially collapses the collet when the collet is mounted in the aperture, and so that the tool to be attached to the turret lathe is gripped by the collet.

    Abstract: A collet chuck device has a body member with a frustoconical recess defined therein. A collet is disposed within the recess. A nut member is rotationally configured on the body member to move the collet axially within the recess. The nut member has an outer sleeve member and an inner sleeve member concentric within the outer sleeve member. The inner sleeve member is threadedly engaged on threads defined on the body member and contains ball grooves defined on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The outer sleeve member has ball grooves defined on the inner circumferential surface thereof and rolling bodies are operably disposed in the ball grooves so that the outer sleeve member is rotatable relative to the inner sleeve member. Upon rotation of the nut member on the body member in the tightening direction, the outer sleeve member advances axially in the tightening direction relative to the inner sleeve member through engagement of the rolling bodies in the ball grooves and thereby forces the collet further into the frustoconical recess.

    Abstract: A quick release chuck device includes a body member having a frusto-conical chamber defined therein for receipt of a conventional collet. A plurality of weighted cam members are disposed around the circumference of the body member and include a first end which is pivotally mounted to the body member.
