    摘要: Described herein is a graphene oxide and polymer based selectively permeable element that provides selective gas, and vapor resistance for dehumidification applications. The graphene oxide is cross-linked with polyvinyl alcohol, the polymer comprises an ammonium salt polymer such as poly(diallyldimethylammonium) chloride. Also described is a selectively permeable element where the graphene may be selected from reduced graphene oxide, graphene oxide, and is also functionalized or crosslinked. Also described is a selectively permeable element where there is crosslinking between the graphene and/or the polymers to provide enhanced gas resistance with water vapor permeability. A selectively permeable device is also described that incorporates the selectively permeable element and further comprises a substrate and a protective coating, encompassing the selectively permeable element. Also described are methods for making the aforementioned selectively permeable elements and related devices.

    摘要: A system and method to dehumidify atmospheric air includes a convergent conduit, a separation unit, and a divergent conduit. A volume of humid atmospheric air enters the convergent conduit through an entry point of a convergent nozzle of the convergent conduit. A swirling process, which generates a centrifugal force, pushes a volume of water droplets towards an internal wall of the separation unit. In particular, the volume of water droplets is produced from the volume of humid atmospheric air. An annular channel of the separation unit is used to extract the volume of water droplets pushed to the internal wall of the separation unit. In particular, a drainage system which is in fluid communication with a transfer channel is used to extract the volume of water droplets from the system. A volume of dehumidified air, which is produced by removing water vapor, exits the system at the divergent conduit.

    摘要: A gas-water separation system may be used for removing water from a wet gas compressed in a water-injected contact-cooled gas compressor. The gas-water separation system may include a tank constructed to hold a quantity of water; a heat exchanger coupled to the tank and constructed to extract heat from the water to chill the water when the water is present within the tank; an inlet port constructed to inject a flow of the wet gas into the chilled water when the water is present within the tank, the chilled water being operative to condense water vapor from the wet gas and reduce the dew point of the wet gas to yield a chilled compressed gas; a biological control system constructed to suppress biological activity in the tank; and a discharge port operative to discharge the chilled compressed gas.

    摘要: A compressed air drying system is provided for removing moisture from compressed air. The dryer operates in two modes in response to the demand for compressed air. In a first mode of operation, a refrigeration compressor runs continuously and the speed of a condenser fan is varied to maintain a constant cooling temperature. In a second mode of operation, the refrigeration compressor runs intermittently between on and off periods. As result, the cooling temperature fluctuates during the second mode of operation.
