    Abstract: A horn antenna including a ground plane delimiting an upper half-space, a horn forming one end of a waveguide, the horn crossing through the ground plane so that a mouth of the horn is arranged at a predetermined height above the ground plane in the upper half-space. The antenna is characterized in that it includes at least one resistive film arranged around the horn, parallel to an upper face of the ground plane, the resistive film having an electrical resistance suitable for limiting creeping waves.

    Abstract: An antenna configured to receive radiation at global navigation satellite system (GNSS) frequencies includes a substrate, a frontside patch arranged on a front side of the substrate, and a metamaterial ground plane. The metamaterial ground plane includes a plurality of backside patches and a cavity. The plurality of backside patches include a center backside patch surrounded in a radial direction by a plurality of intermediate backside patches. The center backside patch and the plurality of intermediate backside patches are arranged in a pattern that provides circular symmetry with respect to a center of the antenna. The cavity is coupled to the substrate, and the plurality of intermediate backside patches are electrically isolated from the cavity.

    Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) system including first and second planar RF devices coupled by non-galvanic interconnect. According to various embodiments, a first RF device and a second RF device are separated by a dielectric layer, each of the first and second RF devices including a plurality of pads disposed on surface and surrounded by a common electrode, the common electrode configured as a grounded metal shield, wherein pads of the first RF device and pads of the second RF device face each other to provide capacitive coupling between the pads. The disclosure may reduce complexity and size of the system, and offer more reliable and easily producible interconnection between elements of the RF system.

    Abstract: An antenna includes a first antenna element, a second antenna element, and a first coupler. The first antenna element includes a first radiation conductor and a first feeder line and resonates in a first frequency band. The second antenna element includes a second radiation conductor and a second feeder line and resonates in a second frequency band. The second feeder line is coupled to the first feeder line such that a first component, which is one of a capacitance component and an inductance component, is dominant. The first coupler couples the first and second feeder lines such that a second component different from the first component is dominant. The first and second radiation conductors are arranged at an interval of ½ or less of a resonance wavelength in a first direction. The first and second radiation conductors are arranged to be shifted in a second direction intersecting the first direction.

    Abstract: A periodic metal array structure can be disposed between two antenna modules and include rows of metal unit assemblies that each includes metal units connected to each other in a longitudinal direction. Each metal unit has a first longitudinal strip, two first transverse strips, two second transverse strips, and two second longitudinal strips having shorter longitudinal lengths than that of the first longitudinal strip, and being respectively disposed on the left and right sides of the first longitudinal strip and respectively spaced apart therefrom by intervals at which the second transverse strips are located. The top and bottom ends of the first longitudinal strip are respectively connected with the first transverse strips. At least one first transverse strip can be connected to a first transverse strip of an adjacent metal unit. Each second transverse strip can be connected to the first longitudinal strip and a corresponding second longitudinal strip.
