    摘要: Wide band Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna arrays include elements that taper from small ends located proximate to ground planes to larger ends which may be extended with vertical walls. Different shapes of tapered elements which exhibit different directivity patterns may be used in the same array and/or elements may be oriented differently such that their directivity patters peak in different directions. Each element is provided with symmetrically or asymmetrically located ground shunted conductors which serve to increase non-uniformity in the azimuthal directivity patterns. The ground shunt conductors are strategically placed to reduce element intercoupling which foster improved MIMO system performance.

    摘要: An antenna element includes a base including laminated insulating layers, a radiation conductor on a principal surface of the base, an insulator at least a portion of which is on a surface of the radiation conductor, and an interlayer connection conductor in at least one of the insulating layers and connected to the radiation conductor, wherein a connection region of the surface of the radiation conductor overlapping the interlayer connection conductor protrudes relative to an outer edge of the radiation conductor in a lamination direction in which the insulating layers are laminated, and the insulator does not overlap the connection region and at least sandwiches the connection region when viewed in the lamination direction of the insulating layers.

    摘要: An antenna module includes a control board having a control circuit, an antenna board on the control board and having a shield through hole and a plurality of first antenna patch conductors, a signal conductor on the control board and the antenna board, a frame body surrounding the first antenna patch conductors and separating the first antenna patch conductors from each other, a metal film covering at least an outer surface or an inner surface of the frame body, and a filter electrically connected to the shield through hole. The control or antenna board includes an internal antenna opposing the first antenna patch conductors. When seen in a plan view, the shield through hole is located between the first antenna patch conductors. A resin having a higher dielectric constant than air is located is surrounded by the frame body such that the first antenna patch conductors are coated with resin.

    摘要: An electronic device may have a phased antenna array. An antenna in the array may include a rectangular patch element with diagonal axes. The antenna may have first and second antenna feeds coupled to the patch element along the diagonal axes. The antenna may be rotated at a forty-five degree angle relative to other antennas in the array. The antenna may have one or two layers of parasitic elements overlapping the patch element. For example, the antenna may have a layer of coplanar parasitic patches separated by a gap. The antenna may also have an additional parasitic patch that is located farther from the patch element than the layer of coplanar parasitic patches. The additional parasitic patch may overlap the patch element and the gap in the coplanar parasitic patches. The antenna may exhibit a relatively small footprint and minimal mutual coupling with other antennas in the array.
