Abstract: A method for manufacturing a hot-rolled and coated steel sheet having a thickness between 1.8 mm and 5 mm. The method contains the steps of: providing a semi-product having a composition containing: 0.04%≤C≤0.38%, 0.40%≤Mn≤3%, 0.005%≤Si≤0.70%, 0.005%≤Al≤0.1%, 0.001%≤Cr≤2%, 0.001%≤Ni≤2%, 0.001%≤Ti≤0.2%, Nb≤0.1%, B≤0.010%, 0.0005%≤N≤0.010%, 0.0001%≤S≤0.05%, 0.0001%≤P≤0.1%, Mo≤0.65%, W≤0.30%, Ca≤0.006%, hot-rolling with a final rolling temperature FRT, to obtain a hot-rolled steel product having a thickness between 1.8 mm and 5 mm, then cooling down to a coiling temperature Tcoil satisfying: 450° C.≤Tcoil≤Tcoilmax with Tcoilmax=650−140×fγ, Tcoilmax being expressed in degrees Celsius and fγ designating the austenite fraction just before the coiling, and coiling to obtain a hot-rolled steel substrate, pickling and coating the hot-rolled steel substrate with Al or an Al alloy by continuous hot-dipping in a bath, to obtain a hot-rolled and coated steel sheet containing a hot-rolled steel sheet and an Al or an Al alloy coating, having a thickness between 10 and 33 μm, on each side of the hot-rolled steel sheet.

Abstract: A steel sheet is provided with a coating providing sacrificial cathodic protection. Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the preparation of steel sheets to be fabricated into a welded steel blank. The method includes procuring at least one pre-coated first steel sheet and one pre-coated second steel sheet, made up of a steel substrate and a pre-coating made up of an intermetallic alloy layer in contact with the steel substrate, topped by a layer of aluminum metal or aluminum alloy or aluminum-based alloy, the first sheet having a principal face, an opposite principal face, and at least one secondary face, the second sheet having a principal face, an opposite principal face and at least one secondary face, positioning the first and second sheets, leaving a gap of between 0.02 and 2 mm between the secondary faces and facing each other, the mating of the first and second sheets defining a median plane perpendicular to the principal faces of the first sheet and the second sheet, then removing the layers of metal alloy by melting and vaporization simultaneously on the principal faces, in a peripheral zone of the sheets, the peripheral zones being the zones of the principal faces closest in relation to the median plane located one on either side of it.

Abstract: A method of treatment of a running ferrous alloy sheet containing at least one easily oxidized element is provided. The method includes a step of immersion of the sheet in a molten oxides bath.The molten oxides bath has a viscosity between 0.3.10−3 Pa·s and 3.10−1 Pa·s, the surface of the bath is contact with a non-oxidizing atmosphere, and the molten oxides are inert towards iron. The residence time of the running sheet in the bath is at least 1 s and the residues of oxides remaining on the surfaces of the sheet at the exit of the bath are eliminated.A treatment line of a ferrous alloy sheet for implementing the method, is provided. The treatment line includes a molten oxides bath having a viscosity between 0.3.10−3 and 3.10−1 Pa·s. The surface of the bath is contact with a non-oxidizing atmosphere, and the molten oxides are inert towards iron.Mechanical devices for eliminating the residues of molten oxides remaining on the surfaces of the ferrous alloy sheet are at the exit of the molten oxides bath.
