Abstract: An oscillating laser welding with filler wires for jointing aluminum alloy sheets with a large gap therebetween, including the following steps: providing two aluminum alloy sheets first, and reserving a gap (2) and keeping the gap with a constant width between opposite surfaces of the two aluminum alloy sheets to be jointed; providing a laser welding head (1), a wire feeding nozzle (3), and a protective gas nozzle (4) above the gap; presetting a welding start guiding plate (5) at a welding starting end of the gap, forming a molten pool on the welding start guiding plate by a laser beam, and guiding the molten pool to the welding starting end of the gap; and enabling the wire feeding nozzle and the laser welding head to correspond to the gap and travel in the same direction. The aluminum alloy welding wires fill the whole gap after being heated and molten by the laser beam, and the welding of the two aluminum alloy sheets is completed. The melting amount of the aluminum alloy sheets by the laser beam can be reduced as much as possible, so that a dilution rate of a welding joint and generation of a metallurgical reaction brittle phase can be reduced, and the porosity of the joint can further be reduced. Welding of conventional aluminum alloys, aluminum matrix composite materials, and additive-manufactured aluminum alloy sheets can be realized.

Abstract: A laser cutting process for cutting at least one workpiece out of a metal sheet while leaving a residual part is provided. The process includes arranging the metal sheet on a support of a laser cutting machine, introducing at least one cutting line for separating the at least one workpiece from the residual part using the laser cutting machine, and introducing at least one separating line into the residual part using the laser cutting machine. In a main region of the separating line, the residual part is cut through. In a connecting region of the separating line, at least one joint remains between mutually adjacent portions of the residual part. The joint has a height that is smaller than a thickness of the metal sheet. The process further includes removing the residual part from the support, and separating the portions of the residual part from one another.

Abstract: An NC device controls a processing machine body so as to form an opening by cutting the periphery of an opening forming area in a material. In a case where a skid interferes with the opening forming area and the interfering skid is positioned within a margin from a first gravity center of the opening forming area in an alignment direction of the skid, the NC device controls the processing machine body so as to cut the opening forming area with a dividing line set at a position that is apart by a predetermined distance from the skid in the alignment direction of the skid. The predetermined distance is a distance in which the material is not welded to the skid, and is a distance in which a second gravity center of a scrap interfering with the skid is positioned at a distance longer than the margin from the skid.

Abstract: A capacitor and methods of processing an anode metal foil are presented. The capacitor includes a housing, one or more anodes disposed within the housing, one or more cathodes disposed within the housing, one or more separators disposed between an adjacent anode and cathode, and an electrolyte disposed around the one or more anodes, one or more cathodes, and one or more separators within the housing. The one or more anodes each include a metal foil that includes a first plurality of tunnels through a thickness of the metal foil in a first ordered arrangement, the first ordered arrangement being a close packed hexagonal array arrangement, and having a first diameter, and a second plurality of tunnels through the thickness of the metal foil having a second ordered arrangement and a second diameter greater than the first diameter.

Abstract: A method for producing a welded blank (1) includes providing two precoated sheets (2), butt welding the precoated sheets (2) using a filler wire. The precoating (5) entirely covers at least one face (4) of each sheet (2) at the time of butt welding. The filler wire (20) has a carbon content between 0.01 wt. % and 0.45 wt. %. The composition of the filler wire (20) and the proportion of filler wire (20) added to the weld pool is chosen such that the weld joint (22) has (a) a quenching factor FTWJ: FTWJ−0.9FTBM≥0, where FTBM is a quenching factor of the least hardenable substrate (3), and FTWJ and FTBM are determined: FT=128+1553×C+55×Mn+267×Si+49×Ni+5×Cr−79×Al−2×Ni2−1532×C2−5×Mn2−127×Si2−40×C×Ni−4×Ni×Mn, and (b) a carbon content CWJ 5000, where FA=10291+4384.1×Mo+3676.9Si−522.64×Al−2221.2×Cr−118.11×Ni−1565.1×C−246.67×Mn.

Abstract: A method of resistance spot welding that enables an improvement of a weld strength of steel plates having different plate thicknesses while inhibiting generation of spatters is provided. One aspect of the present disclosure is the method of resistance spot welding, the method including welding a workpiece made of layered steel plates with a resistance spot welding apparatus. The resistance spot welding apparatus includes a first electrode configured to contact a first steel plate among the steel plates, and a second electrode configured to contact, among the steel plates, a second steel plate that is thinner than the first steel plate, and the second electrode being arranged such that the workpiece is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The welding includes welding while moving the second electrode relative to the first electrode in a direction parallel with a plate surface of the second steel plate.

Abstract: A method for creating an iridescent effect on a surface through formation of wavelets on the source can include using a pulse of laser beams sent to the surface in juxtaposed optical fields of a focusing system. A scanner scans the surface using laser beams along a series of lines that follow each other in a relative direction of travel of the part and of the scanner and a series of lines that lie in continuation of each other in a direction perpendicular to the relative direction of travel. The optical fields overlap in an overlapping area having a width that is twice the diameter of the pulse laser beam up to 2 cm. Two lines lying in continuation of each other overlap at a junction and between the two series of lines follow each other in a relative direction of travel of the part and the scanner.
